To start off with Anime Talk, I’ll be talking about my favorite anime of all time… Samurai X!

Rurouni Kenshin is a manga and anime series created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. It is set during the early Meiji period in Japan.
The story of Samurai X really begins in the late 1860s during the last days of the Tokugawa era(see Samurai X-Trust and Betrayal DVDs). Here, the main character of the series, Kenshin Himura, makes his mark. As a fourteen year old with a belief that he could use his sword to protect the peasants and the weak who were suffering during the Tokugawa era and against his master’s wishes, Kenshin joins the rebels who seek to overthrow the Tokugawa government.
Here, Kenshin becomes an assassin for the rebels. Using his Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu technique, he ends up killing countless people and as a result, he develops the legendary name “Hitokiri Battousai” or “Battousai: The Slasher”. Mysteriously, at the end of the Tokugawa era, Kenshin Himura disappears and begins wondering all over Japan for ten years with the vow in mind never to kill anyone again.
The series starts off with Kenshin running into Karou Kamiya. She thinks that Kenshin is the Hitokiri Battousai. She pulls out Kenshin’s sword and sees that it is a reversed blade sword and that it was hardly used at all. She then runs off at the sound of a police whistle. She then attacks a huge man claming to br called the Battousai. She gets cut and is about to be killed when Kenshin Himura jumps in a picks up Karou and runs away with her. Kenshin goes back to the Kamiya Dojo with Karou. A while later when Kenshin isn’t at the Dojo the fake Battousai shows up. Karou attacks but is easily defeated. She is about to die again when once again Kenshin shows up. Kenshin easily defeats all the men. Then the Battousai attacks and Kenshin jumps in the air and defeats the fake Battousai. Kenshin then says ” The Battousai doesn’t use the Kamiya Kashin style or any other style. He uses the Hiten Mitsurugi style.” Karou then sees that Kenshin is the real Battousai. She dosen’t care and even though he is the Battousai she asks him to stay. Kenshin ends up staying. Here their adventures and love story begins…
This series has 95 episodes in anime, 28 volumes in the manga, 4 OVA’s, and I think also 4 movies.

I really loved this anime because first of all, it’s storyline was based on the history of Japan (which is one of my favorite cultures). Second, I love samurais or slashers and their fight scenes. Third, you can learn lots of values from watching it (except for the violence :D). And lastly, aside from the action, it also has humor and a twist of romance.
Kenshin is also very lovable. I like his ruthless-slasher-turned-to-a-very-nice-person character. It’s like from evil to good. It just justifies that evil people change, all they need is a chance to do so. ^_^
