Lent
Every year, Catholics have to go through a weeks-long period of pseudo-suffering and sacrifice called the lenten season. Why pseudo? Let Lolcat explain:

You can’t eat meat. Big deal. The way things are, this is more of an inconvenience than a sacrifice. But since fish and veggies of almost any persuation (does that even make sense?) are fair game, personal Lenten practices do little to show any religious devotion whatsoever.
