I beg to differ with what gentatsu said. It’s not really a matter of religious affiliation, but on your faith. I think that’s why Christians are getting a lot of flack from those who have different beliefs, because of the different “factions” and their own self-imposed rules. Whether we like it or not, every church has its own strengths and weaknesses - that’s why there’s no perfect church. Pointing fingers on who did what doesn’t really help anybody - after all, in the end, Jesus Christ lived, died, and got resurrected for one church. In the end, it’s not really to what “organization” you affiliated yourself with, but on your faith, what your heart says.

Hmm… not all Christians are the same mind you. I’m Christian but I don’t believe in Santa Claus. Don’t group Christians into one big faction. What you are ranting about are the Christian Catholics I believe, who believe in almost anything a priest would tell them. I on the other hand am a “fundamentalist” Christian. I believe only in the words that God has left in the Bible and nowhere else.
