Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD) which is a parodic holiday invented in 1995 by John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap’n Slappy), of Albany, Oregon, who proclaimed as this day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. For example, an observer of this holiday would greet friends not with “Hello,” but with “Ahoy, me hearty!” So if you want to have a laugh with your friends for this occasion, you can always make some exercises for today with a little research on internet! Har Har.

Okay, finally something for the outsiders of the common hits us today. Are you a lefthander? Are you proud to be one? Then, come over! August 13 is designated International Lefthanders Day by Lefthanders International. It was first observed 13 August 1976. As its name suggests, it is meant to promote awareness of the inconveniences facing left-handers in a predominantly right-handed world. It celebrates their uniqueness and difference, who are from seven to ten percent of the world’s population. People who are left handed use their right brain, which appears to help in geometry, and related subjects. There also appears to be a connection between lefthandedness and intelligence. Means lefthanders rule big time! Ha!

We would like to introduce you International Youth Day (IYD) which is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The first IYD was on 12 August 2000. As with other political awareness days, such as Earth Day, the purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding an endangered demographic. Concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings involving national and local government officials and youth organizations take place around the world in honor of International Youth Day. Look who owns the prettiest dress made on earth with hundreds of Hello Kitty’s on it! We doubt it could be another person than Paris Hilton who is is an ultimate Hello Kitty fan since her childhood. She carries the gorgeous white dress like noone else does while leaving Kitson store earlier this week in Hollywood and channelled her inner Hello Kitty love in the most fashionable way. On the other hand, we love her sporting Hello Kitty but do you know in Japan Hello Kitty is also dressed as Paris Hilton?
