Dear Hello Kitty lovers, Hush… Come closer. Tonight there will be a a penetrating chill in the wind. The bright moon will rise behind the shivering, nearly naked trees. This is the night, after all, when witches ride their broomsticks through the sky, and the natural world is forced to confront the powers of the supernatural. No, it isn’t October 31 and this is not Halloween.
It’s April 30th and it’s Walpurgis Night!
Like Halloween, Walpurgis has its roots in ancient pagan customs, superstitions and festivals. At this time of year, the Vikings participated in a ritual that they hoped would hasten the arrival of Spring weather and ensure fertility for their crops and livestock. They would light huge bonfires in hopes of scaring away evil spirits. A great opportunity to have some spooky fun!

Dear Sanriotown gals, we would like to keep you posted about an national holiday in Turkey which is recognized worldwide today. In Turkey, Children’s Day has been celebrated on April 23 since 1935. It originated from the first gathering of Grand National Assembly on April 23, 1920, during the Turkish Independence War and is called National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
On April 23 children from around the world come to Turkey. They are hosted by families who have children of a similar age. Festivities last over a week and the visiting and Turkish children spend a lot of time together. Many children, often not even speaking the same language, create lifelong friendships. Several of the events are broadcast on television, showing the children in their traditional national outfits, dancing singing and exchanging gifts. The United Nations participates the events.
Wishing all the children of the world a happy, prosperous season!

Dear Sanriotown gals,
Here comes a special sunny day for another beloved Sanriotown character, Pom Pom Purin. This roly-poly golden lab pup is a laid-back, cheerful kind of guy and we wish him a cozy birthday with pals around as he hates being left at home to guard! Happy birthday Pom Pom!

Hello Sanriotown friends,
Today is the day of western Easter on April 12th. Do you know the tale of two Easters? Why one faith and two celebrations take place? Easter is not only a movable holiday but a multiple one: in most years Western Christian churches and Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate Easter on different dates. This year, for example, Easter 2009 is celebrated on April 12 by Western churches and April 19 by Orthodox churches.
The formula for Easter—”The first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox”—is identical for both Western and Orthodox Easters, but the churches base the dates on different calendars: Western churches use the Gregorian calendar, the standard calendar for much of the world, and Orthodox churches use the older, Julian calendar. This story sounds a little bewildering but now you know why it has a simple formula but complicated interpretations! Happy Easter y’all!

Dear sanriotown fans, between April 8th - 15th it is Passover which is a Jewish and Samaritan holy day and festival commemorating God sparing the Israelites when He killed the first born of Egypt, and is followed by the seven day Feast of the Unleavened Bread commemorating the Exodus from Egypt and the liberation of the Israelites from slavery.
Happy Passover!

Once more hello to all the kitty gals. As you know today is April Fools’ Day and we are not quite sure why this particular event happens to be on the same day of *cough* Badzt Maru’s *cough* birthday?! Oh dear Badzt Maru, sorry to say this but we can not think of a better joke than a little mighty penguin whose main virtue is to make fun of everything, happens to be born on April Fools day! Well, seems it is our turn now to mock you!
Before you get angry with us, we would just like to say Happy Birthday to you!

Today is a laughing-stock event as it is April Fools’ Day. Fools’ day that is although not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1st. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, enemies, and neighbors, or sending them on fool’s errand, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible. Ha!
So have you planned any jokes or tricks so far? Let us know and drop a line about your naughty plans so maybe others can get a use of them too!
Have a day full of laugh!
