Dear Hello Kitty friends, January 26th is Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Ox. It is sometimes called the Lunar New Year, especially by people outside China. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar and ends with the Lantern festival on the 15th day of the new year.
It´s a time full of dragon dances, fireworks, family meals and red presents, as red is a symbol of luck. Happy Chinese new year to all the Sanriotown friends far east!
Check out the Ecard section for our lovely Chinese New Year cards with Hello Kitty and her friends.
