Today marks the birthday of the most famous Twins on Sanriotown.com - no, not Little Twin Stars - but Samanda! Happy Birthday Twins from Hello Kitty and Friends!

The Twins turn 20 today and, to celebrate, they’ve posted a new blog all the way from Maguluf. Check out here what the Twins have been up to in their final weeks as teenagers and how their holiday’s going. Dear Sanriotown friends, this month we have Midsummer day on June 21st, the period of time centered upon the summer solstice which is a perfect day to celebrate summer and the good weather.

How about a picnic at the green fields nearby your residence? Sounds lovely! It is more or less the middle of June now so as the weather gets warmer and the holiday spirits start to burn up, it is the best time to wear your Hello Kitty gears if you have any too and enjoy the summer outside! While taking your time under the sun, do not forget to put your sunblocker on though!

The comic character Hello Kitty will become an ambassador, promoting Japan as holiday destination.
As reported by the Japanese news agency Kyodo News under reference to gouvernment representatives, Hello Kitty will be officially nominated as tourism ambassador by the ministry of traffic, tourism and infrastructure.
The little kitten is ought to encourage people from China and Hong Kong in particular to travel to the land of the rising sun.
Because of her great popularity in China, Hello Kitty is definitely “qualified” for this task, the ministry declared. Hello Kitty will be promoting Japan in China. In the past there have already been 11 people nominated as tourism ambassadors. However, Hello Kitty is not only popular in China: The little kitten, which is drawn with only a few strokes started her carreer in 1974, being a purse’s motif. Since then she advanced becoming a global phenomenom and by today decorates 50,000 products in 60 countries.
