‘The popular doll “Hello Kitty” will become the next top model for the Japanese issue of the fashion bible “Vogue”.
In the high-gloss magazine’s june issue, the cute stuffed animal will be presenting the Dior winter collection by John Galliano.

The shooting starring the feline beauty took place in Paris. It shows the kitten doing an extensive shopping trip through the Seine metropolis, as well as together with designer Galliano.

A spokesperson of the magazine is very proud of the coup extraordinaire: “It’s the first time the renowned fashion brand Dior chose a comic character to present their entire collection.” However the idea seemed to be obvious: “These last years Japanese manga and comic characters had a tremendous effect on the world of fashion, while Kitty in this respect is something really special, all the fashion people know her name and face and just love her.”

The character “Hello Kitty” was created in 1974 by the Japanese designer Yuko Shimizu. The name was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s book “Through the Looking-Glass”.
