I saw Christina Aguilera’s new ad for Target. I really liked it, so I thought I’d share it with everyone. The comic book look fits her song well, I think.
I went to DC last Saturday to visit the International Spy Museum with my coworker and her friend. Flash photography and video recording was not allowed so I snuck in some cell phone pictures instead ^_^ Enjoy!
Upon entry, we were told to pick an identity and to remember all the details about that person. This is not a requirement, but it adds a fun element to the entire experience, I think. I picked the alias below because I related to her a lot more than the others. I’m pretty good at remembering details so I was kinda confident in my ability.

After we picked our new identities, we watched a brief video about spies and spying. Very interesting, I might say. Then, we enter the room with the first exhibit. There was a computer that tested you in your knowledge of your alias to see whether you will be able to enter the country of your “assignment.” Fortunately, I was able to “enter the country” without suspicion and then given further details about my mission. (I did not get a picture of this because there was a line of people behind me…)
Here are some pictures…
My coworker recently adopted a German Shepherd mix named Murphy. He was rescued from a kill shelter by a foster family. My coworker found out that Murphy had diabetes, but adopted him nonetheless.
He was such a good dog and was always so energetic. I met him about a day after he was adopted. He was so behaved and calm and played well with the other dogs in the office.
Lately, he’d gotten sick and started vomitting blood. The vet said there was some inflammation in his organs, but that the antibiotics should help. My coworker was confident that Murphy was going to pull because despite the pain and the blood Murphy was still his old self.
Unfortunately, I found out this morning that Murphy didn’t pull through. He died last night at the age of one
It is such a loss to many of my coworkers because we got used to seeing/playing/feeding Murphy almost everyday. My condolences are with his adoptive parents.
One of the good things about working in a historical part of the city is the Ride the Ducks tour vehicles that pass by every so often. When the weather is nice, my friend and I typically eat our lunch outside in the park and we often see the Ducks ride by. It’s so fun seeing the families’ excitement about the whole touring experience and also their insistence on waving to everyone they see. Plus, you can’t count out that loud quack whistle that everyone seems to love blowing.
The cool thing about the Ducks is that it can travel both on land and on water. My friend has ridden it and has told me just how great it was. When my best friend, who lives in California, comes to visit, I’m thinking of taking her on the Ducks ![]()
When I travelled to Lucerne, Switzerland in April, we passed by this store called Lush, which drew out attention simply by the strong smell of its products and its signage talking about all-natural products. I ended up buying these:
Mange Too Massage Bar
After a long, stressful day or just to smell fabulous, rub Mange Too massage bar into your skin and feel its moisturizing effects. We make it with honey, white chocolate and peppermint; and if that’s not enough we also add in mango butter and fresh bananas. It’s hard to resist eating, but even harder to put down. Prepare to be swept away to candy land while getting unbelievably soft, fragrant skin.
Sweet Japanese Girl cleanser
Sweet Japanese Girl facial massage and exfoliation bar is a do-it-all product. Its lovely butters hydrate the skin while juniper berry helps to clear pores and tea tree keeps bad bacteria at bay. The blackhead-blasting action of aduki beans and almonds is amazing. Just rub the edges of the bar on clogged pores and voila: clean, exfoliated skin without any soreness or dryness! Wash away with warm water on a cotton pad and tone with Tea Tree Water. Instant facial!
Heavenly Bodies Buttercream
Imagine taking orange juice, mixing it with a chocolate brownie, adding some mud, slathering it all over, and actually coming out clean. Well, that’s how this buttercream works. Its delectable ingredients make it a pleasure to use, but you’ll love it for how supple it makes your skin feel. Decadence knows no boundaries as you scrub your way to bliss.
I don’t have a Lush near me – the nearest was about an hour away – so when my family visited the Philippines I compiled a list of things I wanted from Lush. My mom brought me home: Read more »
My friend gave me the link to FOB’s new mix tape awhile ago and I liked it so much I thought I’d share it. It’s on FOB’s FriendsorEnemies site. Just hit the red lever and fill in the required fields – no need to fill out everything. Then, you will receive a link and download token for it. The file comes with the songs, the “album art”, and some “political-type” proclamations from FOB and some other Fueled By Ramen artists. Enjoy!
In one of my past postings, I think I’ve mentioned my excitement over the filming near my work. Well, they came back on Monday and have been filming again. Needless to say, my excitement is over as they’ve taken over parts of the road near my work inconveniencing everyone. I’ve found my commute home to take longer because of the road closures
On a lighter note, rumor has it that Verizon is starting to install FiOS in my area, which will allow its subscribers access to “blazing fast” internet, better tv quality, etc. More information about FiOS can be found on Verizon’s FiOS site and on Wikipedia. For someone who has been stuck on dialup for quite some time, this is definitely great news! For now though, we’re gonna have to settle for Comcast cable internet…
