your marvelous night
with a nice boy.
i smile as you tell me about it,
and you gushing every few minutes into your pillow.
but behind my smile
is a flicker of jealousy
as i remember when you told me about him
in the dark gym as poorly chosen music played overhead.
and i told you i know him
and i told you to go for it…
no.
i snap back into reality
knowing i must continue
to fight this monster.
because you’re so happy right now
and i wish for your happiness.
its okay.
my time will come.

blue skies and sunny days
bodes the promise of freedom.
the light breeze
whispers endless possibilities.
and you laugh with those you love
as you all make silly jokes
and delve into each others lives,
creating timeless moments
and unbreakable bonds.

The stars, I mean.
Too much electricity,
too many light bulbs and their florescence
that makes the dark, night sky truly dark.
So put out the lights
and put the stars back in the sky.
I don’t think something so beautiful should be kept
hidden.

It’s a funny concept.
It goes by so slow
Yet it goes by so fast
when you look back.
People learn to look ahead
while forgetting the present,
only remembering it upon reflection,
when it becomes the past.
So I guess what I’m trying
to say is..

Friend A: Hi!
Friend B: Hi, how are you?
Friend A: I’m fine. What about you?
Friend B: Good, good.
Friend A: That’s good. So…what’s new?
Friend B: Oh actually, me and some friends are hanging out tomorrow. What about you?
Friend A: Nothing, really.
Friend B: Oh.
Friend A: Yeah..
Friend B: Well, I gotta go, I’ll talk to you later.
Friend A: Okay, bye.
Friend B: Bye.

And you start to wonder how you both let so much distance come between you.

when you thought I was something special,
that I was a diamond amongst a pile of coal,
someone worthwhile.

Now everytime our eyes meet,
there’s no second look, a lingering glance;
that glance has turned into
nothing but a blank expression.

And as you see me when you
walk down the hall,
and you cling to your new sweetheart,
you’ll think,
“What did I ever see in her?”

From the moment
our eyes first met,
I knew
that something big
was going to
happen.

Just one look from you
and I melt
completely down to my
feet.

You make me feel a certain way:
a mixture of confusion and longing
with a touch of patience that I
have yet to feel for another.

You have the ability to put
into a state of obsession, sending
me into a multitude of daydreams,
by just saying my name.

Already you have given something
to me.
But what I want to know is whether
you feel the same for me, or has
did my heart get stuck in a
dream that will never come true?

Sometimes
you stay up all night
even though you know
you should be asleep.

Sometimes
you don’t do your homework
even though you know you
need to keep your grades up.

Sometimes
you sneak out
because you needed a
whiff of fresh air.

Sometimes
you do these things
so you can be free.

I’ve come down with something
and I’ve fallen terribly ill.
The only cure is
your sweet voice and
your incredible smile.
