Good day! The HKO event “Hello Kitty Online’s Spooky Makeover” has ended, and it was a huge success! We received a lot of awesome blog entries from players containing screenshots of their fabulous (and spooky!) costumes in-game. We’re overjoyed that many people joined the makeover. It was fun reading all your blogs and we were amazed at how creative our beloved players could get with their costume ideas! Thank you for participating, and belated Happy Halloween!

Today, we’re thrilled to announce the winners of Hello Kitty Online’s Spooky Makeover! Here they are:

Runner-Up Winners (Earns 3.000 Sanrio Loyalty Points):

The GM’s Nightmare!

Just because they’re Game Masters does not mean they’re immune to being spooked! The GM’s Nightmare is a satirical depiction of players who ceaselessly badger our HKO GMs. Take a look at how Ly pestered GM Watermelon in the screenshot above. Let’s just hope she didn’t make him tear his hair out! This is proof that you don’t need expensive items to make a creative ensemble! Read more about this entry here

Spooky Tree Girl

What would you do if a suspicious-looking tree suddenly spoke and trundle towards your direction? The Spooky Tree Girl costume was cleverly designed by Anya so that she could disguise herself as a fiendish treant and strike terror on any hapless unsuspecting passerby!  Read more about this entry here…

Alice in Hello Kitty Land!

Alice is a rather quaintly logical girl, transported into Wonderland after following a white rabbit in a fancy waistcoat into a rabbit hole. Loree did a great job portraying Alice by donning a frilly dress, an elegant bow, black pumps and a magical key. It’s a little spooky in a cute way. There are even screenshots of her shrinking to the size of a sugar cube and growing as tall as a building! Read more about this entry here…

Candy House Witch

Somewhere in Hello Kitty World, there’s a house built entirely of candy that appears mysteriously once a year on All Hallows’ Eve! Rumor has it that many children have already entered the candy house and were never seen again. There’s an elderly lady that resides in there, enticing little children with sweets. Don’t be fooled by her grandmotherly visage and the frail old lady act; she is actually a nefarious Candy House Witch!  Or maybe she’s pretending to be one, who knows? Costume design by xSunshine! The Nutty Nutcracker

Nutcrackers are decorative wooden carvings that usually portray soldiers, knights and kings. Azog managed to look like a nutcracker soldier by putting on Royal Army Hat and a Royal Army Coat. Nutcrackers are associated with Christmas, but if you think about it, they’re actually really, really creepy. Who knows what kind of wooden fiends they turn into in the dark? And finally, the Grand Prize Winner:

Grand Prize Winner (Earns 5.000 Sanrio Loyalty Points):

The Mad Hatter

Another fictional character of Lewis Caroll, the Mad Hatter is forever frozen in time at 6:00 PM to partake in a tea party with the March Hare, asking unanswerable riddles and reciting nonsensical poetries! Sora did an amazing job, wearing a black top hat and a foppish outfit. Read more about this entry here…

Congratulations, everyone!

Snowy Wonderland, London, November 3, 2010—The feline superstar, Kitty White, celebrated her 36th birthday on November 1, yet many of her guests decided to overstay and they don’t seem to be planning to leave the venue anytime soon! Fortunately, in her constant battle against boredom among the partygoers in her birthday bash, Kitty has so many volunteers to help her cheer up the grumpy, cantankerous monsters! Those nifty sparklers and fireworks also helped brighten up the snowland fete a big deal!

Here are some photos of the crazy partygoers and the volunteers!

Of course, that means the party’s still on! They might have run out of cakes, but at least, there are still some of those slick and fashionable party hats to be had! The lovely celebrant, Hello Kitty, has thanked her fans for the support and for bringing her birthday gifts, which she will be donating to charity such as Save the Children an aid organization providing relief for the homeless who were affected by Typhoon Negi in the Philippines— and Asian Youth Orchestra.

Come and join the merrymaking! Learn more at the event guide page, read the release notes, or talk to the Party Clown in Sanrio Harbour to begin the adventure!

Have fun!

What’s in a Blood Type? In 1930, the Japanese began to embrace the idea of matching personality traits with one’s blood type. Although there is no proven relation between blood type and personality, it remains famous with many matchmaking services that cater to blood type and is widely popular in Japanese women’s magazines as a way of weighing the compatibility with a partner. One certain SanrioTown blogger describes herself as a Type A positive with traits such as outwardly calm, very high standards and a little timid. Her name is Emily, a college student and the author of エミリのブログ.

The blogger claims that she has attempted to create many blogs in the past, but have failed miserably at maintaining them. Emily believes that keeping a blog is a great way to express emotions, treasure memories and share experiences with others. Her love for the world and life shines through her blog entries. She writes about  her life as a university student and posts pictures of Japanese food. Emily seems to be fluent in the Japanese language. She aspires someday to use this language proficiency to create a sturdy bridge in the world of business between Japan and the United States of America.

Great job, Emily! We hope you will maintain your SanrioTown blog!
