White Wedding

Here comes the bride, all dressed in white… Oh wait! That’s not the bride, that’s Hello Kitty!

Here’s the story of the lucky couple who celebrated their matrimony with their favorite white cats.

The MTR has been a part of their daily life routine, so it’s fitting that this will be where they’re going to be joined together.

Jamie Ng and Horlick Ho, who were classmates at university, didn’t really think about each other after they graduated from university. When they met up accidentally at an MTR station five years ago, however, everything changed. Yesterday, with their friends, family, and other “guests,” they got married. What made the wedding special? (a) It was held at the MTR station, the first one that is legally valid in Hong Kong; (b) The wedding garments were the first in Hong Kong; (c) They had the first ever wedding hall in the MTR station; (d) It was the first ever Hello Kitty train in Hong Kong; (e) It was the first time Dear Daniel and Hello Kitty played best man and bridesmaid, respectively, in Hong Kong; or (f) All of the above. If you answered (f), then you’re correct! Jamie and Horlick were not only thankful to Sanrio Wave for these five records, but also to the MTR station for their very good service as well as for being part of their love story.

    Congratulations and the very best of wishes. My niece Abi and I are big Hello Kitty fans — we had H.K. outfits alike when she was a little girl and I sent her H.K. pajamas last year for Christmas. Hope you get in the guinness book!

    MTR and Sanrio gave a contest for this.:) Those who participated had to write an essay on how the MTR had been part of their love story.

    The one written by Horlick and Jamie was chosen as the best.:)

    There’s no news about whether they’ll be releasing the essay to the public, but their entry talked about how Jamie would always be waiting for Horlick on the station.:)

    I wish that was my wedding…I wanted to be the first to have a HK wedding. Oh, well. It’s really cute,but I would have had more pink. I still think it’s the perfect wedding, though.
