Picture Of The Day 7.

August 3rd, 2009 by barrieluv:hellokitty.comEver since my girlfriend got her G1 phone I’ve fiddled with it at every opportunity.
Working my way through it as much as I can without ‘rooting’ it, scouring the net for little tips and tricks, finding out which are the best apps available and generally having a good time.
So I was over the moon to learn that Android was available as a live distro. It can be run in a VM too, but I don’t want to make my current install any bigger.
I popped off to the Live Android project page, downloaded the necessary bits and used Unetbootin to put it onto a USB drive.
Now I really wasn’t expecting much and unfortunately that’s exactly what I got. It froze at the (pretty) splash screen and went no further.
Looks like I’ll just have to wait a little longer…

Snes Games On The 900.
July 17th, 2009 by barrieluv:hellokitty.comFirst, create a folder and call it Snes Games or something similar. Then you will need to download the games you want and put them into the folder you created. Don’t unzip them.
Games are available, you just have to look in the right places.
Next, you’ll want some software to run them on. We’re going to use snes9express which can be found in the Synaptic package manager.
Once that’s done, snes9expres will appear in the menu under Games.
Click it to start and then click the folder icon on the ROM tab to find your game.
Then hit the Power button…
…Et voila!!
Next, you might want to add a controller. This is where it gets confusing.
Here’s my controller:
It’s cheap, but it does the job. All I need to do now is get it working!
