Have you ever heard of My Milk Toof? It’s kind of hard to explain, sort of an episodic comic, but the artist uses sculpted teeth as the main characters. It’s becoming very popular lately. I think I myself found about it via Cute Overload, but it’s been posted to many other “cute” blogs, and stuff.

It is beyond adorable, easily can make anyone’s heart melt. The artist just released a smallish book, so I had to buy one. For support to the artist, and to have something tangible as well.

And a nice surprise is some sort of “post card” or something. They almost look like stills that the artist was using, but that’s probably just me making supposition. They’re sealed in plastic, and I don’t want to open it.

The book is currently sold out, but I really recommend you subscribe to the RSS feed so you can get the latest news as soon as possible.

Friday the 13th

I am not superstitious, at least in this regards. But today is Friday the 13th, and it certainly seems to be living up to the legend.

A power transformer caught on fire, knocking out most of, if not all of, Morristown. I’d estimate at least 5 square miles. The news estimates about 12k customers.

But that’s Ok. We have a natural gas generator at work which should kick in when we lose commercial power. Should. It didn’t.

But that’s Ok. We have a UPS which should hold us, until either power comes back, or the generator kicks in.

Problem with that is, it’s an 80KVA UPS, and under load provides about 10 minutes backup, normally sufficient for the generator to kick on, or commercial power to return.

I sat in the server room reading off from 10% to zero, in less than three minutes, at which point, we went dark.

5 minutes later, the generator kicks in. Still no estimate on commercial power, but I’m not worried. At this scale, they’re working as hard as they can, and they don’t need me asking for updates every 5 minutes.

Birthday event on SEA

Nov 1 is Kitty’s birthday, and all the servers seem to be having big events. SEA’s started at 8PM SG/MY time. That is 7AM my time, so that was perfect for me.

You might not have noticed, but I sent in a birthday greeting for Hello Kitty’s 35th birthday. It was posted in the “First batch of birthday greetings”, or something (too lazy to link right now), but it’s also listed on the “Recent, Most watch videos” in the Dream Studio! Just a simple video, one still-frame photo set to some music.

Hanging on?

People probably aren’t interested in my soul searching, but in a way, it is kind of a type of therapy. And if people (and certain people) happen to read this and come out with positive impressions of me, so much the better.

Of course there’s the fear that the impressions will be quite the opposite, but hopefully you can see that I’m not “putting on a persona”. The sentiments are just as real as the person writing this.

I deleted a few of my latest postings. I dunno why I do that. I already embarrassed one women with my unwanted attention, I guess I don’t want to do that again. But here I am, posting the same thing, so am I being stupid anyways? I told her how I feel, and in a way, I hope she sees this. Not to embarrass her, but so that she might see that I’m not playing games or joking. Maybe gain favor in her eyes? I just don’t want her to get mad at me! :(

*sigh* Sometimes I feel like such a wreck, why would someone look favorably on me when I get all worked up like this?
