Food trip!

So. Some images of the wonderful food I ate over the weekend.

Now, New Jersey is often called “The Diner Capital of the World”. Supposedly we have the most number of diners compared to other states. Of course, born and bred in NJ, I love diner food.

Here is a “turkey club sandwich”. Real sliced turkey (not cold-cut turkey!), lettuce, tomato, bacon on white toast, with mayo (on the side).

The fries are “seasoned fries”. I asked if they had steak fries, but alas, they did not. I also asked for gravy for my fries, but they don’t do it “right”. Their gravy was WAY too thick, and just not very tasty. It should be much thinner and darker.

Good thing I just dunked a few fries as a “taste-test” rather than smothering my fries.

CJ got a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon. There was supposed to be BBQ sauce, but they forgot, so we had to ask.

The next morning, on our way to the computer show, we stopped at IHOP.  I got sausage and gravy, but they did it differently than I am used to. Normally, they don’t put the sausage in the gravy like that, and their biscuits were a little too fluffy. If you ever go to Cracker Barrel, they do the best sausage and gravy. I guess I’m just spoiled :P

And CJ had the blueberry pancakes.

On our way back from Edison, we stopped in Woodbridge at the best chicken joint in the whole wide world. EVAH! Yea, well. It is very good. If you ever go to Woodbridge, make sure you go to Chicken Galore. The place is pretty unassuming, and it’s only for take-out or delivery. Fried chicken (with or without skin). BBQ chicken and ribs. Oh yea. I didn’t get a shot of the food, cause we took it back to CJs house, and after walking in the heat for four hours, and driving for two, we were both famished, and the only thing our our minds was “feed me”. But this is the outside of the store :-/

Well, I suppose you could eat outside at the picnic table, but it’s right on Route 35, so probably would not be a very enjoyable meal.

Finally, later in the evening, when it was still 90 degrees, we decided to go out for ice cream. I had a banana split. I didn’t get a shot of it, either, mostly cause my hands were full. But here is the store, also :-/

It actually looks like an original Dairy Queen, but under a different name. *shrug*.
