Boy toy
Today is the first day that our weather hits 70 degrees, so as a kind of rite of passage, on my way home from work, I decided to wash my car. Unfortunately, by Tuesday, we’ll be back at 40 degrees.
So here are some pictures that I decided to take after I finished washing and trying to dry the car. I say trying because I picked up some of those ShamWow clothes, which are supposed to be great. Well, the sham part is pretty much correct.
Kinda image heavy, just so you’re aware…
Anyways, I hope you don’t think me rude or boastful by posting these pictures. That is not my intent at all.
Here is a shot from straight on the front-end:
And dead on the rear-end:
Front from the right:
And rear from the left with the drivers side door open:
This is a 2008 Mustang GT/CS. The GT designates it as an 8-cylinder, and the CS means “California Special”, which designates the accessory package. The CS package adds the (non-functioning) side-scoops, the lower rear deck, body skirting and also lowers the car by about 3″ (I think, on that last one). There is supposed to be a hood scoop, but I am glad mine doesn’t have one. The hood is long and has a radical bow, which kind of makes it “interesting” to view over.
The interior is what I like to call “tastefully simple”. There aren’t a lot of gizmos, gadgets and geegaws. What is there, is well-integrated. The focus of the entire car is styling and power, as well as being retro to the early models of the Mustang, like the 1969s.
And speaking of power…
The engine is a 4.7 liter V8 rated at 300HP. Mine is a 5-speed manual transmission, but you can get an automatic. There are several other models above mine: the Shelby, which rates 318HP and the GT500 at 500HP. There are also the Roush and the Saleen, but I have no idea of the specs on those. I think those last two are super-charged V8s, so I can’t even imagine the horsepower behind them.
There is also a 6-cylinder model, and you can easily tell a GT from the 6 bangers by the exhaust. Unless modified, a 6 banger will have a single tail-pipe.
