Goodie day!

Today is the day for goodies! Actually, I’m still avoiding filing my taxes.

First, I went to Target, and decided to buy myself a treat.

While I was in Target, I was browsing around the vitamin section. I’m big on natural remedies. But I when saw this, can you imagine what went thru my head? The packaging didn’t say what it was good for. I did not buy it. I’m kind of tempted to buy it, wondering what it’ll do to me? :-/

Then, my project package DID arrive. It was here LAST WEEK, but the post office has been holding it, because I needed to sign the customs for it. It would have been nice if they TOLD me it came!

Second, my new Amazon Kindle 2 arrived! I’m a big reader.

At the risk of sounding like a commercial, I’m an “avid reader”. But many of the books I read are not the kind of books you’ll want to save (just standard sci-fi/fantasy novels), and I end up with stacks of unnecessary books.

Yea, I borrow first, and buy those that you actually like later… but yes… i do hate the clutter :/ dilemma dilemma

    Ahoy Azog !
Me too- I want to know what you think of the new HK game.
I am a book-lover also. But I just ca’t get into Kindle- I like the tactile expereience and smell and Book-i-ness of a book. But I do think having more storage room on my shelves would be cool! I am a big Sci-fi and Fantasy fan as well!
Maybe we can chat books sometime? ;)

Well, you all caught me at one of my favorite hobbies, reading, so I probably won’t be able to stop talking!

I recently got rid of at least three bookshelves worth of books. Unfortunately, libraries and charity centers don’t take paperback books as donations, so you need to get rid of them one way or another. Had a garage sale, some guy offered me $1 (or $5, I forget) for the whole lot, and I was happy!

I understand the tactile feeling. And some old books, they just smell “bookish” when you open them! There are some books which just don’t “work” in e-book format. You can’t really use a Bible to study, cause you’re always flipping back and forth, so I still keep my printed copies.

And I go to some of the free book websites, like manybooks.net, where they keep all sorts of stuff for FREE! Can’t beat that. Many of them are old, being out-of-copyright and stuff, but still, there are some great books.

I’ll shut up for now! :)

I was reading Johnathan Strange and Mr Norrell until HKO came along and somehow the book got misplaced :/ dunno where it went… I liked it alot though…its different from your normal fantasy cos its set in the the period where the english and french were at war… the language reminds me of Jane Austen haha… I just felt like sharing… you can ignore this is you have read it or have no interest :P

Oh gosh, now you’re really gonna have a hard time shutting me up! I love historical fiction, although I have specific time period I’m fascinated with. Now I’m all bubbling over, I might have to post a blog about it! But I will look into those books you mentioned, they sound interesting.
