Now I don’t know about you guys, but I love Halloween. Mostly just for the events online. They’re just so much fun! And HKO didn’t disappoint. This event was fun, too. And I loved GMMorningBell’s costume! :D

It reminded me of Cardbo… and everybody loves Cardbo XD

Here’s me and my good friend (and guildmate) Katz, ready to Trick-or-Treat:

Aren’t we cute? Heck, we’re totally awesomely cute. Look at the cuteness!

Now, Trick-or-Treating is an age old practice… Everybody knows how it works. You say, “Trick or Treat!” and you get something from the other person. Usually it’s a treat, but sometimes it’s a trick.

In HKO, the treat was anywhere from 15-50 tokens. Nice, huh?

The trick in HKO was some pickles. Actually, that was nice too. XD

However…

I happened to get a trick OF a treat. Here, look at this screencap:

As you can see in this picture… I have a LOT of tokens. Before I traded GM_MorningBell, I had tokens in only one slot. I’m not sure how many were there, exactly, but it sure as heck weren’t THAT many.

So I traded GM_MorningBell for my Trick or Treat prize… and my inventory literally FILLED with tokens. Then MorningBell said, “Astro, your inventory is full.” and that she couldn’t give me my prize.

Come again? XD

So I told her it had just filled with tokens. I don’t think the full gravity of this situation hit her at first, because she just removed one slot of the tokens. I said, “Only one left…” and she thought I meant only one REMAINING. So she took one more away.

Oh, yeah… and she gave me Pickles. XD

I then had to inform her that, no, this problem wasn’t just a little thing… it was a big FAT thing. XD She asked me how many tokens I had. I told her… about 1200 of them (since she’d already removed 100 of them) and I’d had less than 50 of my own to start with.

There was a lot of LOLing at that point. XD

…and then the tokens started slowly going away. It was about this time that I took the screenie you see above.

So that was my Trick of a Treat. Funniest thing EVAH!

And I had a lot of fun afterwards, too. People everywhere were comparing their Trick or Treat loot to see who got what. Every time someone said, “How many tokens did you get?” I had a blast saying, “1300… SRSLY people” XD

So that’s my funny story :D

But some funny stories have tragic endings… and so, too, does my Trick or Treat story. After MorningBell had logged off, people still kept trying to find Pirate for a little bit. I was no exception.

I thought maybe she was hiding in Sanrio Harbour, so I went through the portal.

Little did I know this would be the last action I would take as Astroasis… for DAYS. That’s right, somehow… my account just broke.

The theory is that my character somehow spawned in an illegal place and is therefore being booted from the server as soon as she spawns again there.

Whatever the case, I can’t log in as Astroasis at all. I get to the game… and then get immediately disconnected. Pirate told me that MorningBell would need to look into this and it might take a bit to fix it, so to make a new account and play on that in the meantime.

So my new alt account (and hopefully not new main account :/) is Astro.

So if you see an Astro running around in HKO, please say hi! It’s me! :)

I’ll be updating my blog more often now… with my new adventures on my alt account and with any updates on the status of my main account.

Here’s the design I submitted for the Guild T-shirts :)

I found out later that the numbers were actually wrong. We got shorted a couple shirts, I think. I’ll have to see if I can get them corrected…

When I first got into Open Beta and got to the Florapolis area, there really weren’t too many people around. As a result, pinatas were popping up left and right, all over the place, because no one was around to pop them.

I think popping them actually makes less appear somehow…

I’ll tell you something right here and now:

I love the Party Clown.

I love him sooooo much. Not only is he absolutely adorable, but he gives out tokens! And he seems to love me, too, because he keeps giving them to me. I don’t get it, but I just seem to always happen upon the little guy when he’s ready to pop. He’s the main reason why I managed to buy all the items I wanted from the birthday store so easily.

What can I say? I love the little guy.

Of course, I’m not so sure the love is mutual at all times.

I don’t know about you, but it looks like the Party Master and the Party Clown are kinda having a party over my dead (sleeping?) body.

Way to go, guys. Way to make a girl feel loved. T_T

Well, on the plus side… at least we all know that those two aren’t about to let the partying stop for ANYTHING. Really.

 These pictures are all from the final night of Closed Beta.

The GMs threw an awesome event where we could ask for ANY item in the entire game… and get it! Rare clothes, pets we’d never seen before, farm certs, wild hairdos… You name it! And you got it!

It was totally awesome, of course.

Here I am with Katz and Alesana. You’ll notice they have awesome hair and Alesana even has a gorgeous dress on. Me? Not so much. I made the mistake of asking for something I didn’t know the name of… which meant GMAhoyCat didn’t have any clue what I meant, either. But I figured out the name… and then I resent my request…

And I got it! All of it! Everything needed to make myself look exactly like…

Little Bo Peep?

Well, that hadn’t been the original idea, but once it started looking that way, I sorta ran with it… LOL

After the event, a bunch of us gathered in New York (which the event took place in) to take some group screenies. If there’s one thing everyone in HKO loves, it’s a screenie party. And this one was full of all kinds of awesome outfits and hairdos! So many different looks and styles.

After the screenies, we all were let loose back into the game, to take some last minute screenies and say our final goodbyes.

I went and took a picture with Pau Pipo before the game went down. He’s one of my favorite lesser known Sanrio characters. He’s just so cute and sweet.

I also posed with Cinnamoroll… our guild’s mascot.

It really meant a lot to me that I was able to start a guild for my friends in Closed Beta. I wanted a picture with our mascot to commemorate that.

There’s someone who might never read this blog post or see this next picture… but I still want to say this, because it’s important to me. At the end of Founders Beta, one of my best in-game friends, Cricket, went off to Madame Tussaude’s to spend the final moments of the game with Hello Kitty (who, at the time, was stationed in Madame Tussaude’s).

She thought I would think that was silly. I didn’t. I thought it was a really sweet idea… and I wanted to join her. Not only because it was a good idea, but because I wanted to spend the final moments of Founders Beta with someone who I had had so much fun with during the game.

So I joined her. And I didn’t think too much of it… until I saw a blog post she made shortly after. She said how she’d expected to spend the final moments alone there… but then I’d arrived. She said that meant so much to her… and that it meant that much to her, well, that meant a lot to ME.

I guess that’s what all this seriousness is about here. I have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs in HKO, but I really do think the best part of the game is how it touches our hearts and how we, in turn, touch each other.

Anyway, my friend Cricket wasn’t able to play in Closed Beta, because of computer problems. I missed her a lot… and when Closed Beta came to a close, it reminded me of those final moments of Founders Beta. So I wanted to take a picture to show her that she wasn’t forgotten just because she couldn’t be in the game for CB. That she was missed and there would always be a place for her in the game. So I went to Madame Tussaude’s.

It’s Kiichan now, not Hello Kitty… but I think it’s the sentiment that matters.

And, because history has a way of repeating itself…

People came. People who were important to me.

And it meant just as much to me as it meant to Cricket way back then.

I’ll say it again: I love you guys. <3

Now that they’re all posted… I can start posting stuff from Open Beta… and beyond! Things were so hectic in Closed Beta, because it was only open for a short while, that there wasn’t much time to blog between adventures. I hope to have a lot of time to do that from now on.

Sometimes I get this feeling like something’s sneaking up on me…

So the Patch of Doom came… and a lot of people died.

A bunch of my guildies wanted to do the train quest that requires you to go to South Wind Grassland and, you know, not die until you get to a certain spot there. Well, we arranged an expedition and got out there without any casualties… but no one really wanted to walk back. But the regular Death Train seemed a bit tame compared to the possibilities of the Pyrodon Express. My guildies like to die in style.

 I was going to just dump the pictures in here in a totally random order… but it seems I uploaded them to PhotoBucket IN order as CB progressed… so you’re all actually going to see some kind of organization here. Don’t get used to it or anything, but it’s definitely there. A bit. Sorta.

This picture is of interest to anyone who might be thinking about having a Jellyhound for a pet… and who doesn’t like being eaten.

A friend of mine was interested in a bit of HKO’s architecture and graphics, so I took some pictures. I’ll link to them, because they’re mostly completely boring to those of us who play HKO. Hey, at least I’m honest.

About HKO! XD

Something new in the HKO Founders Reunion was that our pets could now talk. This sometimes resulted in really weird frenzied speech bubbles that you couldn’t even read… and other times, it resulted in some really BIZARRE conversation. Or comments. Or whatever you want to call it.

Exhibit A

Here is my pet dino, Terry Rexman, informing me that he would like to EAT one of the GMs. A specific GM, even.

In fact, I don’t even think he’s telling ME that. I think he’s shouting it at that poor Biff guy as he walks by. My pet’s not only homicidal and interested in eating people… He’s also rude and talks to strangers.

So I was a little surprised (and a bit alarmed) to find out that my pet had an interest in eating GM-Bacon. But hey, I mean, it’s not that bad. I think everyone in HKO has wondered if GM-Bacon is yummy or not. It’s natural. It’s normal. I could see a pet wanting to eat him.

However, a pet wanting to eat its OWNER is not really a good thing.

Especially if you’re like me and you ARE the owner.

Sorry, Terry… Time to put you away now. O_O

This next screencap kind of speaks for itself…

Yes, that’s the convo that occurred when Saige died and discovered that not only does she look pretty dead, she also can rotate whilst being dead. This conversation made me LOL enough that I took a screencap.

Speaking of Saige… It seems that I’ve acquired a grandchild.

Now, I’m only 30 years old.

But I realize this is older than some of HKO’s players.

 It also happens to be much older than my guildmate Saige.

Which, I suppose, is why she started calling me Grandma…

At first I was a bit confused and annoyed, I’ll admit. But then I realized, “Hey. Stuff happens.” I mean, some days you wake up and it’s raining all day or maybe your aunt sent you $20. Other days, you wake up and you have a virtual grandkid all of a sudden.

Don’t look at me like it’s strange.

That kind of thing just happens sometimes. XD

 My guild likes to take group screenies. Well, I think all guilds like to, actually. And why not? It’s a lot of fun!

Then there was this impromptu gathering in Cricket’s Grand Central Station house. Surprisingly, I managed to snap a pick where Saige wasn’t sitting on someone! Isn’t that amazing? XD

The final moments of HKO’s Founders Reunion.

Everyone was gathered in New York - and the HKO Founders guild had started a line. Of course, everyone likes to be in a line, so it quickly became a line for everyone - including me and my guildmates.

This was early on, of course. By the time the Reunion ended, even this area was so crowded all you could see was people, sparkles and snowflakes.

But hey, look at us! Aren’t we a good-looking bunch? XD

So now it’s all over… and the wait for Open Beta begins!

Here I am, just seconds after entering HKO for the Christmas Founders Reunion. I spotted Grandma and Grandpa Kitty in London by this adorable Christmas tree, so I just had to grab a screenie. So cute!

I had to venture down to Sanrio Harbor to pick up the Christmas quest from… Cinnamoroll! I wish I’d gotten a picture with him (he’s my awesome guild’s mascot!), but I forgot to. I was very excited to be back in HKO, so I forgot to take a lot of different pics I kept meaning to take. Oops!

After embarking on the Christmas quests, I got to explore (and get lost in) New York City - which was ALL decked out for the holidays and even had festive Christmas music. How nice!

The quests also sent me to visit a new NPC - Tuxedo Sam! I absolutely adore Tuxedo Sam. I grew up with him and Hello Kitty, long before a lot of the other characters were made! I was very excited to meet him in game.

…but why is he so small???

Seriously, the guy is TINY! I always pictured him being at LEAST as big as Hello Kitty, if not a bit bigger and… fatter. He’s like a midget. I never dreamed he would be so small!!!

Oh, and notice my outfit. Yeah, I raced right into that Item Mall first thing. The shoes were supposed to be the pink dress shoes, but I actually liked these weird black sandals better, anyhow. Weird.

My next stop was to check out my farm and gather some things from my warehouse. Remember that great farm design I made for the Crop Circles contest? (Incidentally, I didn’t win that contest T_T) Well, I’d left my farm looking like that when Founder’s Beta closed. So I arrived at my farm to find it looking like this:

Umm… Ew. My entire farm was COVERED in flies!

Although, bizarrely, the crops could still be harvested without any problem. Weird, huh? So I harvested… and cut some down… and harvested some more… and made some money, at least, during the TEDIOUS work of ripping up my whole farm. T_T Booooo.

After clearing out my farm, I planted some of the things I would need for the cooking and snowball quests for Christmas. I then set out to gather the needed supplies. I basically spent all of the first couple days of the reunion working on the quests. It was fun - but a lot of work! I finally finished with them Saturday night. Woot! Hooray! Then I set out to gather honey for my Secret Santa giftee, Sugar_chan. I gathered up 60 honeys for her and meant to get the rest the next day, but she finished the quest on her own before I could. Oops! Sorry, Sugar_chan! I meant to be more help than I ended up being… ^_^;;

It occurred to me that poor Cricket was so busy organizing the Secret Santa event that she wasn’t able to take part in it, herself. That just didn’t seem right. Luckily, she decided to post a wishlist anyway. So I set to work to get her some snow, since it was on her wishlist. I went to my farm and…

Cricket, these snowmen all had your name all on ‘em! XD

I swear, the darn snowmen never bloomed like this when I was gathering snow for myself… but once they found out I needed some snow for Cricket, they were all falling over themselves to have their snow plucked off. I guess Biker Snowmen have a thing for you, Cricket! XD

That same day, something VERY interesting happened to me. I was wandering around, chatting with my guild… and noticed some new names in the guild chat window. I figured maybe someone had been doing some recruiting or something.

Then I saw Kaito’s name in my guildchat. I seriously did a double-take. I mean, he’s only the leader of THE largest guild in HKO. What the heck was he doing as part of MY guild all of a sudden?? I PMed Cricket for the scoop…

…only to find out she had NO idea what I was talking about. XD

Turned out to be a weird glitch that was effecting only me. I could see all of my OWN guildchat - AND all the guildchat from the HKO Founders guild. Weird! I PMed Kaito and then GM-Ava about all of this. Here’s the screenie I took of the whole fiasco:

 Everyone in HKO Founders was super cool about this glitch! I promise I won’t ever tell anyone about your plans for the hostile takeover of the world. Your secret’s safe with me! *nod*nod*
