Finally!

When the Crop Circles event was announced, I was inspired… to make something cool. And so I farmed… and farmed… and farmed some more…

And I finally finished it! You can go see it here!

And good luck to everyone who’s entered any of the contests!

And stay tuned… next entry, I’ll post some screencaps from the making of my entry XD

After we got the Statue of Liberty built, we still wanted to build the other buildings. Unfortunately, our Empire State Building deed holder was Missing In Action! (Oh noes!)

But we still had a Grand Central Station to build!

And even more importantly… a Grand Central Station house for Cricket!

I headed right over as soon as I saw Cricket online to help out. I tried to make myself really useful!

Then I decided to just sit back and watch Cricket work.

Look at her go!!! XD

(Actually, I was just earning up more energy… XD)

Then more people came… and we built and built!

But then bedtimes came… and even Cricket herself left.

…but me and Malaree soldiered on! We were the few, the proud…

…the crazy enough to stay up that late building in HKO! XD

We got the Grand Central Station up to 150 whacks remaining!

I didn’t want to finish it, because I thought Cricket might want to be there for the final whacks! XD

Oddly enough, when I logged out… Malaree’s Cur was still hanging around on Cricket’s farm. Cricket later told me that when she woke up the next morning, Malaree’s Cur was still there.

Malaree, you might want to talk to your Cur about staying out all night on other people’s farms… XD

Now that I’ve caught my blog up on all the ultra important events that happened before I started this blog… I feel the need to add a Super Cute entry about Super Cute people doing Super Cute things.

That was kind of clever, if I do say so myself.

So now, Astro’s Blog presents for you…

A Super Cute blob of Super Cute people waiting to make a Super Cute donation.

You’ll notice there’s a pie of some kind floating amongst our cloud symbols.

There was an interloper! XD

But we didn’t mind. It was a good time… and fun was had by all.

Shortly after this picture was taken, we got into an Inter-Guild Emoticon-a-Thon with serenitycat from The Pirate Guild. Then we used Captain.Harlock as an emoticon movie screen… but he seemed to not like that, as he moved away as soon as he found out. Sorry, Captain! XD

Wow. Words cannot express the building process.

I guess you could say it’s a bit like building with Lego blocks. Of course, that’s only if you have 6000 Lego blocks and you have to put them together one at a time… and it takes inordinate amounts of energy to do so.

Let’s be honest here. Building is not fun.

But then… Should it be? I mean, in real life, building is WORK. Not fun. And so it seems fitting that it shouldn’t be fun in this game, either. The thing is… HKO is actually pretty realistic about some things. Like animal teeth. Sure, if you beat up a boar, you might get its tooth. You also might get a broken tooth.

And so, like teeth… building is not fun. It’s tedious and hard work.

But with the right people… It’s CAN be fun!

My guild set out to build the Statue of Liberty first. It just so happened to be on my plot of land, due to a little snafu on our guild leader’s land. (Oops!) We started right away, with vim and vigor and… energy! (And food for when the energy ran out!)

We worked… and worked… and… then we lost the competition. XD

We wondered for a moment, “Should we keep going?” and the answer was, of course, “YES!” Because hey, anything worth doing is worth seeing through… and building NYC is worth doing!

But as the night wore on… People had to go to bed. And so only 3 were left.

(The Final Three)

But we stayed with it and… we finally finished!

And inside…

That’s right! It’s an actual HOUSE inside! I was worried I’d have to give up the chance to have a house since I offered my land for an NYC building… but it turns out the building IS my house. Sweet!

I want to thank each and every one of my guild mates who helped build the Statue of Liberty with me. It started out as a guild competition, but then when that was no longer the issue, you guys stayed and finished this building as a labor of friendship. I love you guys!

My new house will always remind me of what an awesome guild I’m in!

The final phase of building New York was, predictably, building New York!

Everyone was given a shopping list of materials that would be needed for the building process. My guild put so much effort into collecting materials… we ended up with about twice what we needed. Everyone just kept collecting so much that when we actually pooled it all together - we had a surplus!

So we were all ready to go! Except for one thing…

The Mystery Materials.

No one knew what the Mystery Materials would be. We all wondered and pondered and wondered some more… but we really had no idea. All we DID know that no matter how much thinking we put into it, the odds were that it would be the LAST thing we would’ve ever thought of. Still, we tried our best to be prepared.

…and when the time came, we were nothing of the sort.

I mean, 99 straps? 25 zippers? Who thought up this stuff?

Well, whoever you were… We salute you. I don’t think ANYBODY saw that stuff coming. It was so out there… Seriously. I applaud you!

We did, however, have some of the book pages from Sanrio Harbour already. We were laughing about, “Watch it be something like that…” and then it actually was! Sweet.

We only had an hour and a half to collect the materials… and believe me, we needed it! But everyone in my guild helped out so much… I was really impressed with our teamwork. We all pulled together and worked so well under pressure - and we got it all done!

Of course, then came the hard part…

Stay tuned for the next blog entry… Where we Fight Dinosaurs!

I mean, where we actually Build New York!

…with dinosaurs.
