When I bought Downey, I had this tank in mind. I hadn’t used it yet because it was kid of old & grody even after I cleaned & re-cleaned it. Just old & used.

I found the tank & top, but it was clearly missing a base- there’s a dome in the center for a light. (Which I vaguely remember… I can’t say what kind of fish we kept in it though.) I propped the front side up with CD cases because there’s a nub on the back.

[Ghetto, but happy fish. He’s behind the plant, being camera shy. Silly Downey!]

I was looking at it today, and it sunk in just how ghetto it looked, so I braved another trip to the basement. It is so nasty & smelly down there, but I found it. I cleaned the base and removed the now defunct light and pump. (Which was a surprise- I didn’t know it came with one.)

[Although I had to borrow some lighting from Bubbles’ tank, it still looks good.]

Downey is living large in his 2.5 gal hex tank. Bubbles is in a 1.5 cube & Momo is rocking a 1 gal drum bowl.
