This is a tough one. I think the best decision albeit not the easiest one is to be honest, and tell her that you like him, too. Hiding that fact from her will harbor resentment in you whenever she talks about him or flirts with him in front of you. And if one of you go out with him in the end, there won't be bitterness or hurtful shock to damage your friendship. It's best to just let it out now, even if it causes a problem in the beginning--it's better now than later. If your friend gets upset, hopefully she'll get over it because she has no right to be upset because you're entitled to like whomever you want, too. And if you do tell her, don't make it a competition to get his attention. Think about how important your friendship with her is and if you value it more than this guy.
