Battling the monster in me
Sunday, June 1st, 2008Part 1 of 3, prolly. :/
First day of camp was about global warming and vegetarianism mostly. They showed us this horrible video about pigs and chickens and animals getting killed. Yeuch.
Anywhoo, my social mingling prowess was really tried today — and you all know how cynical I can be. And sometimes, I don’t exactly believe in what I tell them. But not believing it to be so would be too depressing, yes?
Anyway, amazing races are excellent for bonding moments — definitely. I think I was too slow but hey, 3rd place is not bad!
Oooh. And I definitely met a lot of hottie friends. By hottie, I mean totally friendly. Totally. I haven’t even had long talks with these people and I don’t think they really know me but they’re just soooo nice! I think it’s the Tzu Chi culture. ;D
Day one can be summarized as awkward and a bit cordial — like you don’t know how to act around these people but well, I gave them the hyper Tiffy side. I hope it worked. Oh wait. Yeah, I gave a bit of the witchy Tiffy side too. But not so much, I hope.
Did I mention they cornered us into making vows of being a vegetarian? They gave us these papers and led us to this huge board thing? Where the headings “1 day,” “1 week,” … “eternally,” were written. And since I was trying to set a good example, I sort of pledged to be vegetarian for a week.
Anyone there know anything about being a vegetarian? D:
EDIT: I was looking for food cause I was so hungry. Dad brought home meat and eggs. And I can’t eat both. Apparently, milk is also not allowed so I ate a cookie instead. And then I realized halfway — cookies have milk.
I’m gonna be a lacto vegeratian (so that my milk slip-up can be excused!)
