If you think you have an overprotective father, think again. Earlier this day, when we were about to lunge into the cool waters, our dear daddy whipped out a long piece of rope and told us to hold one end so that in case we go too far out, he can pull us back.

It would’ve been pretty funny had he not been serious.

We were lucky since he listens to reason—although this didn’t keep him from standing guard by the water’s edge, monitoring how we swam. When I swam a little farther away, he’d tell me to come back, after which I abruptly stood up to show him that the water was only chest level (and we all know how shallow that would be considering my height).
