Eye bags? It looks like a mountain!

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Aha! I have found an article about what we can do about those pesky eye bags!

(When you’ve got nothing to do and you’re not in the mood for studying, you search the net for useless, useful in this case, things)

According to this… article?

For some causes of under eye bags there are rather simple solutions. Someone who retains extra fluid could try sleeping at night with their head raised to prevent fluid build up in their face area.

You could also try avoiding foods that might make you retain fluid. Drinking more water also helps a person to flush excess water out of their system. For others there may not be such simple solutions.

There are a couple common tactics that seem to work pretty good. Placing cucumbers, tea bags or an eye mask over the eyes can help to reduce the puffiness. Also many beauty world insiders swear by using hemorrhoid cream to reduce puffiness.

The hemorrhoid cream is said to work because the same ingredient that shrinks hemorrhoids also reduces the puffiness under eyes. When you get bags under your eyes due to heredity you may not be able to find a solution. In this case perhaps asking a family member how they handle their under eye bags would bring up some good solutions.

But what if les eye bags aren’t caused by lack of sleep? Hoe noes!

HApag-asa Time

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

SP_A2330Has anyone noticed the extreme increase in temperature? My head was throbbing because of the heat! :/ A bowling classmate of mine even had a something attack. Which caused her to look as if she fainted. :(

Anyway, as part of my Psych108 requirement of Lingkod Aral, I chose to volunteer at Hapag-asa, which is a feeding program for underweight kids. It’s near Katipunan near the something Pentecost Church.

Would you believe that this hear is a girl? No?

Still no?

Well now she’s wearing a pink dress. :3 I hope by now you’d see the girliness!Androgynous kids, pfft! What next! (She’s sooo adorable though!)

Anyway, these pictures were taken the last time my sister was there. I was hoping I’d see her too. But seeing how I have really short memory, no such luck. (I wasn’t looking too well, anyway) Plus, I didn’t bring a camera! Ack! :(

And on our way home from UP, Harrell (he’s driving me and Madeleine home) stopped by the gas station and asked them to wash his windows.

Madie is shocked, “Aren’t you going to buy gas?”
Harrell: “No… I just want my windows washed.”
Wu: (starts laughing)
Madie: You can’t do that!
Harrell: Well, it’s free!
Me: It’s free when you buy gas…
Harrell: (in a somewhat high pitched tone) But who’s going to wash my windows? (who’s whiny now!?)

Q&A Answer

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

I’m answering a Q&A for today cause I can’t seem to find something to blog about. I don’t want to bore you guys with my life. Haha.

Rukia asked: Can Someone’s Personality Change?

My answer? Totally. After all, we constantly adapt our personality. It’s a survival thing. I think there’s even a Psychological answer but I’m too lazy/tired to think of it. I still have exams exams and more exams! I’m screwed.

Can people who have cancer donate blood?

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

I donated blood last Friday. Well, I had a 5 hour break and I was diligently doing my homework in my little nook in the CSA tambayan. Homework bored me and this guy was asking people to donate blood… so…

This would be the second time I’d be donating blood. And it’s always a wonder why not a lot of people do it :(

I mean — it saves lives!

When the girl from the donating blood place came to the org tambayan, she was asking people if they want to donate.

Chris: I have aids!
Someone else: I have an STD!
Still another: I have cancer!

So I searched around in the Internet and there’s a FAQ about donating blood, yay!

Q. Any side effects of Blood donations?

No ! Not really. Do ask any regular blood donor about it. A small percentage of first time donors may psychologically feel a little dizzy but only for a few minutes. Staff at the blood bank will ensure that your first blood donation is a happy experience. We are sure this will make you a regular blood donor. In fact there are many people who have donated more than 100 times in their life time.

See! I guess maybe people are scared of needles? I know I am. I’d wince and they’d ask me if it hurts and all I can say is, “I’m scared of needles.”

I remember this other time when this nurse girl was going to inject me with painkillers the time I dislocated my elbow. She told me,
“Miss, I’m going to inject you with painkillers all right?”

I’d nod and she’d persist,
“This might hurt a little. But don’t worry, it’s just going to feel like a bug bit you.”

I think I snapped at her a little with, “Just go ahead and do it, I’m not scared of injections,” because the next day, I had a bruise in my arm.

Hmm… Either that or she didn’t know how to do it well.

I should really stop writing long posts, no?

I have been obsessing about buying a 4×4 rubick’s cube ever since I learned how to do it last Friday. Dismissing the fact that I still haven’t memorized all the algorithms possible for the 3×3 one and I still haven’t tried learning how to do it blindfolded.

I went with my family to SM San Lazaro a while ago to buy ice cream some stuff. And then I saw it — I saw the cube I wanted in National Bookstore. Dad saw it and suggested we buy one. Until I told him how much it was. He went on to say that I just wanted to show off and that it would do me no good to be an expert on the cube. Ack. But… I just wanted to play.

“You’re like me when I was a kid — always wanting to show off.” So that’s why he became a music major :P He always wanted to perform for others.

Don’t know how to play? Use this:

I even saw a sudoku one looking for pictures of rubik’s cube? :3 Isn’t it so fun?

Ah… rubik’s cube love ?

The number one thing people tell you when they see you playing:
“Why don’t you just remove the stickers.” / “When I was a kid, I’d remove the stickers — saves you the headache.”
