More Contests

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

We all know how I love joining contests online.

Why not join this one? You might actually win! :D

Ultra-runner Tim Borland is running 63 marathons in 63 days in order to raise funds and awareness for the A-T Children?s Project in their quest for a cure or life-improving therapies for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a rare, neurodegenerative disease that affects children, giving them the combined symptoms of cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and cancer. Children with A-T ? born seemingly healthy ? are usually dependent upon wheelchairs by the age of 10 and often do not survive their teens.

To run with Tim, join a tailgate party, or make a donation, please visit the A-T CureTour website. There, you can also view the daily video blog produced by filmmakers who are making an independent documentary on the A-T CureTour and enter a contest to Win a Nintendo Wii.

Turns out I wrote a Mooncake Trilogy

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Yes. It’s all about probability.

UP CSA will have a booth in AS Walk until tomorrow. We’re celebrating the mooncake dice game!

So basically, you just throw the 6 dices at the same time. The prize that you’ll get corresponds to the combination of the dices you rolled.

mooncake dice combo

I think this chart I got from a blog somewhere (click the picture to end up in the place where I got it from).

Last Friday, I won the grand prize by being able to throw a combination with five 4’s and one 1.

And a while ago, I was able to win again by throwing a combination of six 3’s. Though I can’t get the grand prize since Kimmy wanted non-CSA people to win the 1000 bucks today (I only knew at the end of the day when I asked if I won). Lol. So if by tomorrow, my combination is undefeated, I will get the money–yay.

Don’t ask me how I end up rolling those :/ They seem to think I’m lucky. Paopei asked me to play her throws for her. I got her lots of junk food and three lanyards :)) That was fun.

My University? The Hotness!

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

We were the champions in the UAAP Cheering Competition this year. And no matter what other sore losers out there say, we’re the best. I mean, is this not proof enough? Hahaha

My Second Q&A

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

If you noticed, in some blog communities like vox and LJ, they have these questions that bloggers can opt to answer when they have nothing to blog about.

I think this is what Rukia had in mind when she started creating her Q&As.

How it works? Link to her blog posts like what I’m going to do and then answer her question — and I plan on answering all her Q&As! :D

Q&A: What is the One Food Item You Absolutely Refuse to Eat?

So to answer her question: nothing.

I absolutely refuse to eat nothing.
I’m constantly trying out new food and I don’t think icky food will scare me. If I’m assured that it’s edible, I will eat it. Hahaha.

Looking at Rukia’s answer, one thing that she absolutely refuses to eat is balot.

Balot is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside.

This picture is a picture of what, my dear friends, we call balot.

It is quite a delicacy here in the Philippines and I have to tell you. It’s one of my favorites!

The yellow part is the egg and the hairy part is the duckling. Now. If you’re going to eat it, don’t pick at it and remove the duckling because I assure you, you will see the body of the whole dead duckling, which isn’t appetizing at all. Bite it and just forget that you’re eating whole small duckling. Lol.

Think of it this way, you eat pigs that are killed, so why not ducks?

P.S. What do you think? Should I create my own Q&As? After all, it’s a way of getting people to link to my blog and a chance for me to see other blogs out there? :) People should really learn how to link love, don’t you think? Besides, it might give those who don’t know what to blog about a chance to blog about something — anything! We should really keep the community going!

Moon Cake Festival

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

What I love about sanriotown blogs is the amount of really interesting blogs there.

Like this blog here!

And yes! Moon Cake Festival is around the corner! I just don’t know which corner, care to educate me?

Quoting Kuromi ,

“Anyway, do you guys know about the Moon Cake Festival? Most people call it the Mid-Autumn Festival? it?s a celebration of the legend of the Moon Goddess. There are many versions of that story, but my favorite is the part where the Goddess goes to the moon and turns into a rabbit that creates Moon Cakes! Ohohoho~

You can imagine why this is an important celebration of rabbits everywhere!”

And let’s not forget… ROLLING THE DICE! Anyone had their fill of the games and prizes yet?

Win a Copy of the 4-Hour Workweek

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Manila Freelancer will be giving away a copy of the 4-Hour Workweek.

Just blog about it and comment on his blog entry.

The only catch is that they will only ship to any address within the Philippines.

Not to worry, though. I know there a lot of members here in Sanriotown.com who lives in the Philippines XD

Anyway, have any of you read this book? Is it even any good? :)

I just like getting a chance to win a book. I haven’t really won in a raffle online, so why not give it a shot, right?

Private Practice is Up!

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Hi guys! I just wanna give you the heads up!

Anyway, I’m not sure how that’s gonna turn out though.

Here’s the link:

For Extra Fun

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

It was the first time that I wrote 19 on a survey when it asked for my age! Accccccccccccck. Traumatizing. I’m still recovering from it.

Anyway, my favorite local band (only because Lexy baybeh plays the sax. Don’t shoot me dead, Anj baybeh) now has a music video for their song Imposible (my personal fovorite favorite — I really need to learn how to spell!) Clicky please? :) You’re taking a break from school / work anyway! So watch / listen! :P

Another thing, they have a thing this Saturday! Wanna support them? I think that the MV that wins will be shown on MYX? So… Yay!

Happy Birthday to ME

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Well, I was really supposed to blog yesterday. But since our internet was cut, uhhh… It’s now moved to now! :D Yay! Compared to last year’s birthday celebration, this one mellowed down (probably because I turned 19).

gift This one here’s what JM prepared for me, Madie and Hazel! He made our friends sign our different notebooks! :3

Thanks JM! It’s great!

And since Garrick’s still in the ICU, recovering from his operation and accident, CSA made a get-well-soon board for him, which we all signed :D

Garrick get-well-soon card

I had killer classes, really.

hello kitty purse

Picoy surprised me (literally. :/ He jumped out of nowhere) while me, Ruby, and JM were walking towards the Chem pav. And he gave me… Hello Kitty stuff! Yay!

It’s a Hello Kitty purse (I think it’s from HK, it has a tag in Chinese, ack!)! And a Hello Kitty toy that I forgot to take a picture of, haha.

And since there were three of us who were celebrating our birthdays. Madie and Hazel are twins. They’re tall and thin — that makes them the twin towers and I get to be the pentagon. Fitting, no?ensaymada with CSA

We bought ensaymada for the peeps in the CSA tambayan, yay!

So, really, the day was spent taking pictures of everything except myself since I looked like a mess.

I had Chem reporting next so I took pictures of that too. Hahaha.

The Manila paper on the right was made by yours truly, if you zoom in closely, you’ll see how horrible my handwriting is… But! Isn’t it so colorful? :3

The reporting was a lot of fun cause people were all cracking horribly corny jokes (me included… I couldn’t help it!)

The carbohydrates group wore yellow while the protein people wore white. There were three who didn’t join in the color coding and wore blue! D:

Those who reported about carbohydrates fed the class with foods with carbs and those with protein, foods with protein. Chem31.1 TFRVW1 classLol. Rizzie tells our prof, “We should’ve had a group who’s going to report on Carboxylic Acids.” (Someone tell me please that you got the joke, lol)

Yay us! And after this picture, my battery was depleted. But not without being able to take a picture of my prof! Hahaha.

Congratulations, Ma’am Flaire! (She passed the Chem board exams thing) XD Brysse also took the board exam (AI peep!). I haven’t asked him if he passed! I plan on saying congrats!

Out of 38 people from UP who took the exam, 37 passed! Yay! Congrats! UP Diliman’s the university with the highest passing rate here in the Philippines.

Chem classmates and Ma'am Florika Macazo

Guess which one of them’s my prof? Clue: She’s the one wearing glasses! Lol. Looks young, no?

The funniest birthday message:

Oh! Thanks also to those who greeted me through blog entries XD

Bong who photoshopped a picture of me (the one who looked like Meryl) and Chicky who inserted a birthday message in his blog entry, lols.
