August, September, October had passed and I had been neglecting to update my blog.  My bad!  Been hangin’ around in Facebook a lot!!!  I guess that’s what had been distracting me for sometime now.  Kinda got hooked in some of their games. O_o

November is here and the pre-Christmas sale are just everywhere.  Been trying to hop from Sale to Sale.   The early rush of shoppers are eminent.  Because my hubby and I are one of them.  ^^ And we’re going to another one this Sunday.

Finished reading Percy Jackson series last month.  I love how the Greek Mythology play a big part of the story.  Even my hubby, sister, sister-in-law, nieces and nephew got into it.  And I love discussing it with them right after they read the books. The story is a cross between Harry Potter and Greek Mythology.  So it’s a win-win story line.  I don’t want to say much about the how it goes because I don’t want spoiling anyone if they are still in the middle of reading the series.  But one thing is for sure, I’m definitely gonna watch the movie adaptation of it!!!!

It has been weeks since I last updated here.  So sorry for slacking.  My bad.  Been very preoccupied with Facebook.  Yep!  I’m one of the many addicted pips out there who is always stuck in that website trying to be updated with what other pips are doing.  To the point that my hubby and I are both tuned on it and even comment on each others pages despite being a few feet away from each other!!! Funny isn’t it??  XD

Catching up on things. For the past month, I had a 5 day business trip to Hong Kong with my bestfriend (which later turned into a pleasure trip he he he).  Hoping to get some good resourcing at the Hong Kong Convention Center.  We did find lots of great stuff. Though, we’re not sure if it’s saleable here since the prices are a bit steep.  Hmmm.. we have to think about that.  The weather was a bit crazy, one day it’s hot the next day it would rain!  Not really a great month to travel.  But on the plus side, it’s the sale month in Hong Kong.  As for the remainder of our trip, let the pics says it for themselves.

Today is suppose to be an ordinary day.  Nothing special.  And yet I was wrong.  Because the moment I got to the front door.  A note was stuck there saying “Read Me!” in it says “Do you know what today is???“  Something seems to light up in my mind.  But I wasn’t too sure.  So following the note, I came across another note the says to pick up the flashlight and that I must not turn the lights on.  Wading in the dark I followed the instructions.  I got the third note saying that I was getting closer.  When I finally got in our home.  The lights were all turned off and the only illumination in the room are a couple of long candles.  A table setting for two and music that we had compiled for the wedding.  On top of the table is a love letter explaining it all.  So what this is all about?  It’s the fourth year anniversary of the time we first met.  In case your wondering, we met at a Neil Gaiman book signing.  And yep!  My hubby done it again, he made me off balance.  But in a good way.  Guess what?  I was boohooing again.  To compensate for the lovely dinner.  I washed the dishes.  I think it’s fair enough eh? hehehehe.

Why does sad things have to happen?  Why does it always shock us and leave us all depressed and broken in some ways.  I guess I’m trying to have an outlet for the recent passing of my brother in law.  I am sad that it had happened so suddenly that all of us are still hurting to the very core.  My Mom is in bed trying to nurse the deep pain it is causing.  On how my sister can handle it all.  On how her kids can go along their life without their father guiding them.  I on the other hand is still skeptical that it did happen at all.  That any moment he will be there back to his usual place.   So far, my sister is really calm though I know she is showing to the others that she can handle this.

The hubby and I went to Xiamen, China for a week.  The weather was beautiful.  Not too hot nor too cold.  But we do get an occasional weird rain and sun all on the same day.   Xiamen is quite a bustling city.  Evey single year there’s always something different.  Like a new shops, eatery, new bridge or a building.  The city is really growing fast.

 We visited Tu Lou (literal translation means a building made of earth), a village with a peculiar rounded housing.  Which had stood the test of time.  It took us about 3 hours ride to get there.  But it was worth it because it’s not the usual thing you see.  The food is all home grown from the village and it was really really good!!!  I think I went for a couple of bowls of rice. >_<

This soup taste like there are coconuts in it!  The herbs they put in made it taste that way.  Really yummy!

Each housing can house a lot of people.  Each room is provided per family.  If the sons get married and no room is available.  They have to move to another housing.  Thus, they make more circular house.

Okay, this is not a potty.  But a deep well was provided for each apartment.

Back in Xiamen, we stopped at a nearby coffee shop named Geo Geo Cafe.  I love how they made this house into a coffee shop.  Makes you feel all homey.  Plus it has a nice view of the lake.

So this past weekend, there was a massive sale in some malls.  My husband and I did go.  And naturally, when a girl sees those red signs that says “SALE” we just go stir crazy.  Guys, don’t seem to get it though.   But the hubby did succumb and bought some stuff too.

Dressing up my dolls in Pupe Girl I seem to get into the dressing up buzz.  I usually don’t dress up much for work.  Though I do doll up whenever my husband and I go out.  From the sale, I got some great pieces for a fraction of the original cost.  Not a bad buy.  Got a couple of shoes from VNC.  *Squee* I noticed lately that I’m getting into the shoe bug.  Also trying to organize them by putting a picture of it in front of the boxes so I’ll know what shoes are inside it.

My husband and I had been waiting for this movie to come out.  Froggy owns a copy of the graphic novel and he was all praise with Alan Moore’s ingenious plot.  So since it was pegged to be put on the big screen.  I borrowed the novel.  It was a slow start for me because I was actually at a loss.  I do read graphic novels but sometimes the flow is a bit confusing.  As I read on it all became clearer and when I reached the last page.  It was definetly a good read.  If I am going to pin point each plot line I would be at a loss on how to explain it but if I take it as a whole I would have a better chance of telling you what went on.  Rorschach’s character had left a strong impression on me.  I have his whole persona etched in my mind.   And when the movie came out.  I was having a high expectation for this character and the movie itself.  It was well justified in the movie and much more than I had expected.  The movie is almost 95% accurate to the graphic novel.  A not so easy feat.  But it was well executed.  It was like literally watching the comic book come to life.  For those who had not read the novel.  Some may find themselves bored or even lost in the middle of the movie.  This superhero movie didn’t come from your typical goody-two-shoes mold.  Think of a darker, violent and more human super heroes.   One thing is for sure, I will be waiting for the DVD release of this movie so I can add this one up to our growing collection.

My sister in law (SioMe) and I flew to Hong Kong last February 20.  It was a short flight from where we’re at.  About 2 hours of fly time.  Once we get to the bustling city.  We went straight to our rented apartel via the MTR at Kingston near the Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay.  We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights.  Since there are only the two of us.  We did manage to go to a lot of places.  Some we already knew and some we had discovered.  It was really an adventure for the both of us.  Whom is used to going to Hong Kong with our respective families and that they are the ones navigating us where to go.  But this time around.  We’re the bosses and we’re also the navigators.  Giving us the chance to explore the city and it’s sights at our own pace and time.

We set a date when to go to Macau.  It’s just an hour ferry ride from the Central station.  Since it’s SioMe’s first time in Macau.  I took her to the Fisherman’s Wharf.  Had lots of photo opts with the beautiful structure depicting different countries.  Then we took a cab ride to the Square, where’ the infamous church front of St. Pauls can still be found.  We also had a scrumptious egg tart which is quite famous in Macau for it’s authentic Portugal recipe.  So far it is the best egg tart I ever had.  We also tried the Yakult Fruit Tea drink.  It was different, but not that bad either.  At least now I know that Yakult and fruit tea can be mixed together.   Churches surround the square, because this used to be ruled by Portugal hence the churches.  They are really pretty.  We also hotel hopped from Wynn, to MGM, to the connecting hotels of The Plaza, Four Seasons Hotel and The Venetian Hotel.  All of them are gorgeous in their own way.  Some more extravagant than the others.  By the time we get home to our apartel, it was already 1am!

From our walks in Hong Kong, we found out that the Ladies Market and electronic shops are located in Mong Kok, the outlet stores are in Tung Chung, and the wholesales clothes are in Lai Chi Kok.  Of course in between our walks there’s a lot of shopping that had been done.  He he he.  Girls will be girls.  Like a moth to a shinning bling bling.  We also noticed that Bonjour Pharmacy is cheaper than SaSa and Watsons.

Our short trip had really made us aware of what Hong Kong & Macau has to offer.  Not only did we enjoyed ourselves. We made memories to cherish forever.

I was sorta sick yesterday, with a weird stomach flu.  My husband wasn’t home because he was at work.  But he took care of me once he got home.  So this morning, out of the blue.  He surprised me with a nice breakfast in bed.  A very sweet gesture which is a first for me.  Gotta love him ^^  And right before he left for work.  He did leave a love note for me in my closet.  Which I wasn’t suppose to find until after he left.  Nevertheless, he wrote how much his happy being with me and also thanking me for taking good care of him.  Gee,  I am lucky!!!  Love you too hubby ^^

So my husband up his romantic factor yet again.  We went out on V-day and he was all secretive about our whole date.  I kept rattling of a list of places that he could have brought me but he still kept mums about it.  Until we finally arrived to a hotel, where in he had arranged a nice dinner at the roof top garden.  We weren’t the only ones there.  Other couples can be spotted too but a good distance from each table.  It was an intimate dinner with fine dinning good food and champagne. And we even witnessed a fire works display that was set off from the nearby mall.   Not only that, he surprised me with a bouquet of beautiful fragrant flowers which I thought he wouldn’t get for me because he told me he wouldn’t.  He usually do make me off balance with this kind of stuff.  I wish I brought my camera to capture the moment we have had.  *currently have her head up in the clouds*
