YouTube On TV Via PS3 and Wii

Friday, January 16th, 2009

This might just give me a reason to get the internet browser on my Wii once I move into a new home. I would love to be able to watch my favourite “Let’s Play” video makers in the comfort of my living room!

YouTube Comes To TVs Through Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii

One way YouTube is making itself more TV-friendly is by including an auto-play option that lets viewers watch related videos in sequence, without the interaction required on a computer.

YouTube on Thursday announced the launch of YouTube for Television, a section of the site with a new user interface designed for easier viewing on TV screens.

Initially, YouTube on Television (www.youtube.com/tv) is available as a beta test through Sony (NYSE: SNE) PS3 and Nintendo Wii game consoles, in 22 countries and in 12 languages. Additional devices are likely to be added in the future.

YouTube’s aim in providing APIs for developers is “YouTube on any screen, any time,” as the company puts it.

Hello Kitty Phone: KittyC90

Friday, January 16th, 2009

I don’t know how fun it would be to speak on, but it looks pretty cute! I think it’s neat that it has handwriting recognition.

Hello Kitty Phone Surfaces: the KittyC90

hello-kitty-phone

The KittyC90 phone is pink and shaped as a Hello Kitty head with a 2-inch LCD on the back that supports handwriting recognition. It better have handwriting recognition because I don’t think the five flower-shaped buttons below the screen and the two on both sides could handle texting. The Hello Kitty phone plays MP3 and videos, it is equipped with a camera and FM tuner and preloaded with 2 games. It comes with a pouch and a handbag, all with a Hello Kitty theme. It’s really would’ve been the perfect Christmas present for many girls around the world and cheap, too, at $142.
