Important Information About Loyalty Points

by abramiles:hellokitty.com

There is an important blog post over at the official Hello Kitty Online blog regarding Hello Kitty Online Loyalty Points and Kitty Points.

Loyalty Points could be considered a form of fake money for Hello Kitty Online, as they allow you to purchase items from the HKO Item Mall. For those of you who obtained HKO Loyalty Points during the Founders’ Christmas Reunion, your points are going to be erased at the start of the HKO open beta but the items you purchased using the points might be spared. The official blog will have further announcements on what will happen to your items, so be sure to check it regularly.

For those of you that have been paying attention to your Sanrio Town account, you porbably noticed that you have been earning Kitty Points (you can find out how much you have by looking under your message summery after you log in, as shown in the picture below).

There was very little information about the Kitty Points up until now and I am verypleased to report that the Kitty Points are to be converted into Loyalty Points at the start of HKO open beta!

“In Open Beta, these Kitty Points will be converted into HKO Loyalty Points. That means, the higher your Kitty Points, the more Loyalty Points you will receive. This will be an active conversion system, so continued use of Sanriotown will earn you more points for the Item Mall!

At the moment, signing up, logging in, sending email through your account will earn you Kitty Points, but we have plans to extend this system to the use of other services in Sanriotown.” (official HKO blog)

I think that’s pretty exciting! I thought that I was going to be one of the uncool people without all the neat stuff from the shop, but it turns out that I will be given a chance to earn those items too. =^_^=

I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday and that those of you who celebrate Christmas received everything you wanted. Bye for now!

List of Things In ‘09

by abramiles:hellokitty.com

Almost everyone plans out what they would like to see in the coming new year as it draws closer and closer. Usually this is done after Christmas, but I thought I might as well kill some time and do it now!

First I’d like to start off with the things that I am looking forward to:

The Hello Kitty Online open beta.

I was not able to take part in the founder’s beta, but I will be sure to make an appearance in open beta! From what I gathered from the forum posts, the players seemed to have had a lot of fun questing, socializing, building, and taking care of their farms. A lot of people made some new friends inside and outside of their guild too! I am extremely excited and cannot wait for the open beta release.

The Sims 3.

I am extremely excited about The Sims 3, which is currently set to be released in February. There are many new features that are going to be included that never came to be in the older versions which are extremely helpful. My favourite, other than the fact that sims will now be able to visit their neighbours, is the new decorating system. Players will now be able to rotate and slide almost any object so that they can decorate the house exactly how they would a real home. No more choosing a love seat over a couch just because it lines up with the big screen TV! Players will also be able to place objects on diagnal walls that they were not able to before, which is also really awesome because now shelves and pictures can be put there.

There’s so many more features I’d love to go on about, but I must move on! (Perhaps it should all go into a future post!)

Finding a new home with my boyfriend.

When my lease is close to being up for my current home, my boyfriend and I will be looking for a new home to share together. It’s going to be a great chance to spend more time together and I won’t have to wait a really long time for him to come over any more (he takes a really long time to get over here even though it’s an extremely short trip and I refuse to visit him for reasons I’m not going to discuss here). I’m also looking forward to cooking dinner with him and being able to cuddle up to him every night. I have hopes that it’s going to be very enjoyable and fun!

Things I’d like to do/try/get/etc.:

- Obtain more Sanrio products (they do not have to only be Hello Kitty themed)

- Learn to cook some new meals, especially Japanese food. I would also like to learn how to bake some new types of desserts.

- Learn how to draw the Sanrio characters. (I know how to do it, but my hand doesn’t seem to draw what’s in my head. =P)

- Earn a lot of money.

There are many more things that I am looking forward to and I would really like to do/try/get/etc. as well, but the ones above are the most important to me right now.

Happy Holidays!

Hello Kitty Desk Cleaner

What a great idea! I could really use one of these.

Hello Kitty Desk Cleaner

583081_1583081k2 What do you say to having a small cleaner for your desk? The Hello Kitty desk cleaner comes with small brushes that acts as a duster/vacuum cleaner to clean your personal workspace. Running on two AA batteries, the brushes rotate to remove the dust, guaranteeing a squeaky-clean desk. What makes this gadget cute as well as hopeful is that Hello Kitty blushes when you turn the gadget on.

THE JR Company in Japan responsible for underground trains and bullet trains have launched a new kind of train, the Neko Mimi! I wonder if those ears are aerodynamic or flop back when the train moves?

Tabula Rasa Closing

by abramiles:hellokitty.com

The MMORPG Tabula Rasa was officially released to retail on November 2nd, 2007 and is already shutting down. The game is going to close as of February 28, 2009, with servers becoming free to play on January 10, 2009. The reason?

“Unfortunately, the fact is that the game hasn’t performed as expected. The development team has worked hard to improve the game since launch, but the game never achieved the player population we hoped for.” (Open letter from the Tabula Rasa team.)

“lololololol”, as my good friend Zirnitra would say. Still, it is a shame when a game has to close down like this.

Blog Tutorials

by abramiles:hellokitty.com

Tohomiko_K, a site admin over at the Hello Kitty forums, made a fantastic post listing the blog tutorials that have been made in the past. You might want to check it out if you’ve been having difficulty posting on your blog, would like to brush up on your skills, or are interested in some tips and tricks to make blogging easier.

Spacing not working properly? Try this!

by abramiles:hellokitty.com

Every once in a while, a blog will forget how to space your paragraphs the way you want them to be and will come up with its own rules. This can become very discouraging to writers who would like their blog to look exactly the way they like. Thankfully, if you know how to write the code for what you want to do, you can manually fix the error and your blog will look the way you want it without driving you crazy!

The first thing I recommend is you write the content for your blog, then hit “publish” like you normally would. (As seen below.)

After doing that, read your post to see if it is spacing your paragraphs correctly. If it is then you don’t need to worry about the rest of the steps, but if it isn’t then you will need the code to tell the blog to insert a space (which can happen once in a while sadly, as seen below).

In order to place the code correctly, you need to click on the “code” tab (this tab is underneath your title and beside the tab labeled “visual”). And then every time you come to the end of a paragraph, type in  and where the space is missing type in . It should look exactly like this (I’ve highlighted the entered code):

Now you can write your posts without having to leave the spaces between your paragraphs out! In the future, I would love to do a video tutorial so that my instructions can be more clear. Look for it in a future post in 2009!

Update: I made the video! View it here!

I find that the wiki pages available for games that are played offline or online are extremely helpful. They often provide tutorials to learn from, event history, lore, and other interesting and helpful things.

Cannot find what you’re looking for? Perhaps you should try doing research on your topic and post about your findings so everyone can learn along with you! Want to correct someone’s error? You can edit articles to correct mistakes!
