I’ve been asked a few times how to add the Clustrmap and hit counter into the sidebar, so I’ve decided to post this little tutorial on how it’s done! Actually, if you know how to add images into your sidebar, it’s pretty much the same thing. You just have to know what to put where.

Click the link to see it full size. That’s the “Add Link” page, where you’ll see the field to add in images to your links. While many of you already know this part, it’s the first part to knowing how to add in widgets like Clustrmap. So moving on…
When you go to your Clustrmaps admin, be sure to select “[B] Minimalist (for MySpace and other sites needing the plainest HTML) ” because this is the only option that will work for SanrioTown. And then you will see a simple code, which I’ve broken down to those 2 parts:
Address:
http://www4.clustrmaps.com/user/xxxxxxxx“>
Those are the two parts that you have to add in, using your own URLs of course. Before trying to add any other widgets, make sure that they follow this simple format or have options to accommodate simple image links (so yeah, you can add in your counters!). Javascript, flash and widgets that use DIVs don’t work with this blog, that’s also for your safety!
Also, remember that the images do not have to end in “.jpg”, “.gif” or any familiar extension for them to work. As long as it’s in the “<img src=” tag. Hope this helped! :]
