Hello! Welcome back to the official blog of ‘The Adventures of Hello Kitty and Friends’! Last week we talked about the à la Film Noir era in the 50s; and today we will show you the drafts of Hello Kitty’s Bakery of this theme. Obviously, we are not making the animation black and white, so don’t worry! What we are going to do is to make use of the style in the 50s to design the look of the bakery’s furniture!

Concept News: à la Film Noir era

Here are some designs for a future episode of "The Adventures of Hello Kitty and Friends"! The story takes place in the 1950s, à la Film Noir era. The locations represented in these drawings are: A bakery and a private eye’s office.

Concept art is created after the storyboards are complete. The storyboarder figures out what locations and props are needed in the story, and makes a rough indication of those items in the storyboards. The concept artist takes those roughs and refines them — first by researching the styles requested, then designing, adding details and color along the way!

V.I.P. (Very important Pochacco)

The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends brings another fun-filled episode, and this time, it’s Pochacco’s turn to be in the spotlight. After hearing a thunderous applause on TV, Pochacco starts to crave for that same kind of attention. He then decides what kind of talent he has that is worth the applause the performer on the TV got. Hmmm… let’s just say that what he picked isn’t exactly praise-worthy. Good thing, Dear Daniel and friends support him! True friends, they are indeed! From this episode, I learned that the truth could sometimes hurt and that telling it outright isn’t exactly the right thing to do. Not to spoil anything, it’s safe to assume that everything worked out quite well so if you want to know how Pochacco becomes a superstar, you better stay glued to the tube!

Cinnamon Debut

Today’s episode of The Adventures of Hello Kitty and Friends is rather… touching. The gang meets a new friend, albeit a very, very shy one and his name is Cinnamoroll. He has plans of turning an old house into a coffee shop named Café Cinnamon.

Too bad he has a hard time painting because he’s too shy to ask for help. Hello Kitty and My Melody decide to gather the rest of the gang to help Cinnamoroll and at the same time, make a new friend. Everyone’s excited to help out. Yay! In the meantime, Pochacco checks on Keroppi in his house. To his surprise, Keroppi wants to be a scientist! Hmmm. A friend in need and an aspiring scientist coming together – I smell adventure brewing! Stay tuned!

New Apparel

Hello all! It’s time to update this kitty blog again. I remember there were many restrictions to this cartoon when we first started to work on it. We can’t change their physical appearance and proportions and we needed to keep Hello Kitty and her friends safe from harm. Anything that looks dangerous must be removed, etc etc. One of the things that we always wanted to change is have to have them wearing different clothes. However, that didn’t happen till later in productions. In fact, in the newer episode, Hello Kitty and her friends will be able to do all these crazy things that was considered a taboo back then! I won’t go into detail about this but I would like to show you some of the character’s new clothes. Check out Keroppi!

Run My Melody, Run

It’s another fun-filled day for Hello Kitty and Friends! This time, there’s a sporting event in their school and everyone is encouraged to join. Everyone is excited except for My Melody? She’s afraid of doing badly in the sprint and what’s worse is that she doesn’t believe in herself. Kitty and friends do their best to lift her spirits but she just won’t believe them. Poor, My Melody. Desperate for help, My Melody implores the help of the Little Twin Stars. A magical wristband is created to help My Melody run faster. Will it work? My Melody finds out that the real magic is in her – her confidence. Once again, we learn another valuable lesson! Yay! Stay tuned!

character profiling: My Melody

Woohoo! Here’s another healthy, heapin’ pile of Sanrio love. This time, let’s not focus the limelight on My Melody:

My Melody is an honest, good-natured little girl. She lives in Mari Land with her mother, father, grandmother and her brother, Rhythm. Her pink hood, which was made by her grandmother, is her most favorite possession in the world.

If she’s not baking cookies with her mother, she’s out playing with Hello Kitty or her mouse friend named Flat. Her favorite food is almond pound cake. My Melody cherishes her friends the most and her friends love her back resoundingly.

Hello Kitty on TVB

Greetings! For anyone who lives in Hong Kong, “The adventure of Hello Kitty and friends” has aired on TVB last weekend! The show starts at 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. I waited at home the whole day on Saturday just for the show! When they started to play the opening song, I felt so relieved! The fact that I can see our work hard finally shown on the TV screen, it made me forget about all those tough times that we’ve been through. It’s a moment of honor for all those who had worked on this cartoon and it gives us the energy and inspiration to do better in the future! Not to mention that the chinese voice over for Hello Kitty and her friends was very well done! It was very cute indeed! So if you did miss the chance to see it last weekend, you better not miss it again! Good job all!

Greetings, animation fans! Ah today is the day where birds are a lot more chirpier, the grass much, much crunchier and you feel a whole lot lighter on your feet. Love is in the air! Get a whiff!

Mmmhmmmm. Anyway, everyone in SanrioTown is busy for the day of love: Dear Daniel is drawing up a plan to give Hello Kitty the best surprise Valentine’s party ever while Keroppi and Pochacco are scheming up a prank. Everyone is busy! I think Cinnamoroll is planning to serve heart-shaped cakes in his coffee shop. Yay!

As for me, I’m busy putting the final details for my Valentine’s day. Mwahahahaha! Keep loving, people!
