HKO DAY8 helped Jack complete his NY Quest… HKO DAY9 & 10 - finally completed my NY Quest.

Haven’t seen Nataya in a day or two… I think she’s taking a break - I thought she meant she wanted to go to bed - not take time off the game ^^:

Unfortunately, I left the first guild I joined in HKO - which has nothing to do with the guild leadership, the person who invited me, or the way the guild is run…  But more like certain types of people/behaviors that reminded me of one of the reasons that eventually led me to quit my previous game that I played for over 4years…  Long story short minus all the negative stuff - I’m more of a small guild person and the guild I was invited to join for a lil less than a week is one of the largest in HKO atm…  there’s not that many guilds right now since it’s just the beginning and not many people can afford to create one but anyways…. it would have been nice to be a part of a guild that would later on be one of the older guilds of HKO but… and I thought it’d be better to leave before I felt obligated to stay… so right now… I’m back to playing solo.  Thank you RC for inviting me and I’m sorry I couldn’t stay…

So after leaving the guild, I was able to have more time for my own character and was able to complete all my quests except for the last 3London quests…  The Rolling Burry’s Ball (2) & The temperature regulator (2) & Deciphering the blue feather…  The first one I’m working on atm which is going to take me a week or so I think considering the crappy droprate and half my ingame time’s spent moneymaking…  The second one I’m waiting around until I have enough magic crystals… The third one which I’m unable to complete due to the ‘in-progress’ status of the game itself…  I thank Rin様 for her quest guide which helped me complete all my quests.

My 1week HKO Anniversary!~*  ＼（＾∀＾）メ（＾∀＾）ノ

So today… I got a lot done!  I completed my Florapolis quests… finally ε-(´・｀) and  go through I think almost half of my London quests.  And for the first time I farmed - Farmer Juicy harvested…. strawberries, oats, greentea leaf, cauliflower, and coffee fruits. ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ  Crafter Juicy was able to skill up a variety of crafts today and also… hit lv 18.  I have to complain one more time! - it’s a bi7ch traveling back and forth arrghh… I was mining and gathering a lot of my crafting materials today and you have to travel to like 2-3different areas to get all the materials for 1recipe…(,,#ﾟДﾟ):∴;’･  Anyways… oh~* did you notice how I didn’t use the word ‘farm’ but specifically said mining/gathering? hehe pat on the back (*｡_｡) a cookie for juicy. w  

I bought some fertilizer and entered my farm… stood there for like 5minutes trying to figure out what to do…. then another like 15minutes trying to figure out how the fertility number thingy worked…. (all 20minutes went to waste hehe)… I started randomly doing stuff but I couldn’t pick the damn strawberries and was standing there staring at them when Nataya came to my rescue !  ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ Thank you Nataya~*  She visited my farm today^^ and helped me get started and now I kinda know how to farm ヾ(-_-;) well at least I can grow and pick my fruits and veggies hehe… but I think I’m wasting too much fertilizer since I don’t know what I’m doing… exactly… (*｡_｡) 

I met a guild-mate named Jack today.  He asked for help and I was walking him through some stuff he was confused with or didn’t know… He mentioned how he may not want to play HKO if it wasn’t free… I’m not sure if I would pay to play this game either but it’s starting to get real addicting heh. ヾ(-_-;)  I hope the game stays free…(*｡_｡) HelloKitty wouldn’t make us pay would she now?! ∑(O_O；)!

So… hopefully I can complete my NY-Quest tomorrow if I have enough time~*

Ripplecloud invited me to join her guild so I joined Sailora today… ＼(＾▽＾*)  Thank you for letting me join~* The guild is huge with @ 100members or so and they were founded during the closed beta season…  Nataya and Angelheart ended up joining the guild also… ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ I asked Kittymel if she wanted to join and she said she’d think about it so … ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ

I wish they had named the areas all unique names instead of East of blah blah, West dreamland, forest, valley etc. etc… - it kinda gets confusing for me when I’m traveling back and forth and doing quests… ε-(´・｀)

I hit lv17 before logging which took basically all day… helped Lexi with the 10 cur’s teeth quest & the wolf skins quest… Ann with the purin papa copper & coal quest…  While helping out I noticed my droprate sucks…ヽ(ｏ`皿′ｏ)ﾉ  or is it the game itself?  They should add ‘treasure-hunter’ gear or food or something that ups your droprate when you’re farming for quest items or something… (*´ο`*)=3

Which brings me to… I need to come up with another word for farming… I’m so used to using the term ‘farming’ like it’s used in FFXI (when doing activities to collect items to complete a quest/mission or make money to maintain your character)… but HKO has the option to really farm so if I use farming people get confused and think I’m actually on my farm, farming…. ヾ(-_-;) But then again HKO has ‘planting’ as the word for farming… but players refer to it as farming in the chats… arrgh… （￣へ￣）

They also have lumbering/gathering/mining skills and your actual character level interlinked so when you skill up the 3crafts your actual character level goes up also…  This was alil confusing at first since in FFXI lumbering/gathering/mining would be categorized as crafts like cooking and skilling up your crafts don’t level up your character…  I also learned today that you don’t lose EXP from dying… this is helpful since you don’t have to worry about losing exp when death-warping…  Telepo/warp scrolls/items should have been added if they weren’t going to be given as character magic skills…  It takes ages trying to get back to your spot if you weren’t right outside of town when you died…  (,,#ﾟДﾟ):∴;’

The other day I happened to arrive in Paris by accident heh… I was out doing stuff and ended up taking portals after portals and somehow landed in Paris… The wonderful land of My melody!!~* It’s heaven for those who love pink (ME!!)  But there wasn’t much to do there yet so…. I just wandered around for awhile and headed back home. heh… (*｡_｡)

I’m currently working on the NY quest & the Sakura’s key quest which I’m kinda stuck on.. ε-(´・｀)

I didn’t get much done today.  Still trying to finish up on my Florapolis quests while doing London quests… so… traveling back and forth, farming for quest items, and researching online for quest/faq guides are taking up most of my ingame time. 

I hit lvl 16 today and my cooking is almost lvl 6~* AND I went shopping with all the money I saved up since yesterday and now Juicy has blue pigtails and sporting the Easy-London line hehe.  I need to start working on the NewYork event tomorrow~*  Short post today ^^ … nothing really interesting happened ingame and my ingame buddies haven’t been loggin on for the past couple days - or maybe it’s the time difference… ; ;

I’m working on quests from both London & Florapolis right now…. It’s a pain in the ass since I have to travel back and forth but I’m kind of stuck on a quest or two from both towns so might as well do what I can…  And my excitement gets me killed every time. hehe I was so excited to fight new monsters in new areas that I ran out there unprepared…. they hit hard…. I think I used more than 50 choco-milk today… ^^:  I’m slowing down on my questing so that I can farm up some gold since I’m broke after buying all my London gear and upgrading my tools and wand… the cheapest top in London  is like 1500gold….   Farming wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the slow ass HP-regen…. There is no difference between standing around & sitting in healing position when waiting to heal up…. It’s both 1tick….  Doesn’t make sense.

Oh I forgot to mention yesterday that I got the pretty sparkly thing that swirls around your character~*  And today I farmed a blue wig and a long black wig. hehe. I didn’t know it would be permanent… I thought it was like an equipment you can put on then take off to go back to your default hairstyle ; ;  So I ended up with short blue hair… so I ran back to farm up another wig and got super lucky and ended up with the long black one~*  I prefer long hair in RL too. hehe.  I was hoping for  black pigtails/chunli buns but it seems like they only have blue pigtails…  I want my default hairstyle back… my long black wig has funky bangs. hehe.

I also farmed up a rose today so even though I have my wand equipped, it shows me holding a rose ^^  Not much to blog about today since I just farmed all day…. Oh yeah it seems like they fixed the spelling for Londan so now it’s London ^^ 

Yay＼(＾▽＾*)／ So I made it to Londan today… finally~ ☆  I’ve almost completed all my Florapolis quests…  I’ve also been to all the different areas between Florapolis and Londan…. and successfully killed all the different types of monsters in those areas without dying. ^^;  I’ve enjoyed gathering and lumbering (well not really enjoyed… w) but the results - shopping spree & exp - made me a happy camper~* ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)  I found out a lot of different things today like, about getting a pet, changing your hairstyle, and that you can lock-on to a nearby monster while lumbering or gathering so… if it happens to attack you while you’re busy picking some berries off a tree, you automatically start smacking the monster that’s attacking you.  This lets you save a few HP since normally when a monster starts attacking you while you’re busy, you get smacked around a few times before you lock onto it and actually start fighting back.

Hmmm… What else… I really like Londan. It’s more Sanrio-ish than the Harbour or Florapolis.  If the cities get Sanrio-er as we level up… I’m gonna die in Sanrio heaven. ∑(O_O；)  The rooftops in Londan are shaped like cupcakes and yummy pastry… and you get to even meet HelloKitty’s parents ^^  and there is also a Charmmy Kitty fountain (´･ω･｀)  Oh yeah~* I also got my farm but my name doesn’t show up on the lil list that comes up when you talk to the NPC that lists everyone’s farms (*｡_｡) …  and when I first entered my farm, it took me awhile to figure out how to exit w ^^:  There is a lil farm-control panel thingy on your upper-right hand corner that lets you exit.  This reminds me of my first day on HKO, when I couldn’t figure out how to exit the game… I stood around for like 10minutes trying to figure out how to exit the game and after having said gnite and everything to Nataya, I had to ask her how to exit…she was probably wondering what I had been doing for the whole 10minutes… hehehe (・－・)

While doing my Florapolis quests today, I got stuck on the Cherry-tree quest…  I couldn’t figure out which tree it was…(･_･?)  I went around clicking all the ‘major’ looking trees ε-(´・｀) …  I thought the heart tree looked more cherry-like so I stood there clicking around on the floor…. ^^:  But finally figured out it was the yellow tree…  ヽ(ｏ`皿′ｏ)ﾉ  but the question mark wasn’t giving me anything when I clicked it and it just kept telling me I didn’t have enough crystals…  (,,#ﾟДﾟ):∴;’  So I tried making one… which I later found out was a big mistake since it’s supposed to be used for another quest… but I’ll figure that out later（￣へ￣) …  And while I was standing under the yellow tree confused as hell as how to get the damn key, a passerby named MaryTerror showed me how to check for the key I supposedly got… unknowingly…  Thank you MaryTerror ＼(＾▽＾*)  I would have stood under that stinkin yellow tree all night if it wasn’t for you   Well the tree doesn’t stink… it’s a cute tree (-ω- )

* Got a pretty wand today~* fire wand ^^ and was able to get some new clothes ^^  Now Juicy is wearing a red top with gray skirt and white sneakers.

* It seems like you are able to change hair color/style later on in the game. I can’t wait!!  I want pigtails or chunli bunz (if those are an option w) ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ

* Nataya said she’s already addicted to the game… Me… I’m not an addict just yet ^^: BUT I am starting to really enjoy changing my character’s appearance. (*｡_｡)

♥ NOTES:

*  Ok so I was complaining about monster-engaging in my last post… today I figured out there was some kind of auto-target system.  So you left click on the monster and it shows a lil ‘label-thingy’ on top of the monster’s head and that shows you are ‘locked on’ and then once you come in contact with the monster it seems like the monster comes after you even if you move away from it (not too far though),..

*  Figured out how to travel around the map to different cities but you have to be patient hehe. ε-(´・｀)  I’m one of those impatient ones (*´ο`*)=3  and I tried to rush through the map to Londan without lvling up properly and resting in between and soon the monsters started hitting harder (than expected) ∑(O_O；)! and i was dead in a couple smacks and had to town it ヽ(ｏ`皿′ｏ)ﾉ

* Click on skill book to learn it.  Still haven’t really figured out how to use the slot on top of your screen.  I think it’s for crafting but not 100% sure.  And I don’t know how to clear the slot after using it.  The last used ingredients seem to stay grayed out but still visible in the slot… ヾ(-_-;)

* The more quests I do I’m noticing how the reward-system is a bit… more or less stingy. They slave you for like 30pieces of something and give you less than minimum wage (,,#ﾟДﾟ):∴;’･  Then have the balls to ask you for another favor （￣へ￣）  Then pay you crap again…. But we keep coming back for more… （￣ー￣）  Well… it’s ok since it’s in the land of kitty.  Makes everything better o(^^o)(o^^)o  hehe  whatever…

♥ INGAME SUMMARY:

The server crashed or there was some kind of maintenance I was not aware of… I was doing some Sanrio Harbour quests at the time chatting with Nataya but then realized the game froze…. When I tried logging back in it wouldn’t work… So I went to CS hehe.  When I logged back in today I noticed the game rolled-back.  I never experienced roll-backs in FFXI but roll-backs were a b!7ch in D2 LoD… and now HKO (,,#ﾟДﾟ):∴;’  but it wasn’t too far back… 

I talked about server atmosphere in my first post about how HKO seems like one of the more less hostile/competitive mmos but it seems like it’s just like any other mmos out there heh.  The thing that annoys me is… when people see you farming on a certain plant and they stand over you spamming it…. wtf is that?  In FFXI I would probably… more or less…  b!7ch them out for being rude but since this is Kitty-Land and all… I just walk away (’-'*) ….  Nataya was saying ‘you’d expect kitty lovers to be nicer… kitty would not be happy’… hehe… She is so cute  ヾ(´･ω･｀) i agree!   So I got a lot of quests done today and upped my friendship level allowing me to purchase my first pretty wand! and new clothes from the shops ＼（＾ ＾）／  finally…   I need to learn to watch the chat for buy/sell shouts - people sell for cheaper & the offers seem better than the npcs…

So… I hit Lv.9 last night. I thought money-making was a pain in the ass but exping is just as bad in HKO. w Damn, took me hours to get lv.9. Maybe cuz I didn’t kill a single monster until lv.8. (-_-;) I lvled up mostly with farming pearls/clays and ivory stuff. Then finally was able to get the noob wand quest completed and went out and wacked some monsters. (ﾟｰﾟ)(｡_｡)

I wish there were HMP+ food to help speed up the healing (takes FOREVER) but there seems to be none. (*｡_｡) Nataya told me to try choco milk… which gives you HP like elixirs & HP potions… but I miss my FFXI HMP+ sweetz and gear ε-(´・｀)

Another complaint… m(_ _)m This one’s about the SarioTown Blogging system. Is it just me or does Sanriotown.com lag a lot? On top of that, since this is my first time blogging - I can’t really compare it to other blogging systems but… something doesn’t seem right. It’s hell trying to blog cuz of the ‘coding’. I read in the faq section that you might screw up the way it looks if you copy and paste from Word or something so now I’m actually typing directly on the ‘Code’ section and typing out all the ‘br’ codes…. Pain in the ass. I typed under the ‘Visual’ section and it’s screwing up my ‘enter’s and spacing it out all weird…. This is my first time playing a mmorpg alone (w/o RL friends)… So I thought I’d give this blog thang a try and maybe make some new online friends. ^^ This is also my first ‘game-blog’ and I think it might be helpful (to myself) to note things… since there seems to be a whole lot of stuff I’m going to have to learn… ∑(o_o；)

The towns and outdoor areas are… a lil difficult to travel around at first (dead-ends arggh)… being directionally-challenged doesn’t help matters. (*｡_｡)

I really want to get to Tokyo City since it’s Cinna-land ^^ but haven’t figured out how to get there just yet… (・－・)？

I used to be a big fan of cute ‘farming/collecting’ games like Harvest Moon & Animal Crossing. So… I’ve been waiting a loOong time for something like HKO to come along… Especially since I’m a total Sanrio freak~* !! (*≧▽≦)

♥ NEW AREAS: Sanrio Port (start point). Sanrio Harbour. Florapolis. South Dream Forest.

♥ INGAME SUMMARY: Been farming in Sanrio Port and the areas right outside of Florapolis (forgot the area names…) Mostly some flowers and trees/shrubs… ^^: Did some quests in Sanrio Port & Florapolis. Was able to purchase a Lv.4 axe from a buy/sell NPC from the money I made from farming & quest rewards. After getting the axe, was able to go to South Dream Forest to chop up some tree trunks. ^^

♥ NOTES:

★ Visible GMs who chat with players on the main general chat.

★ There seems to be some kind of Red-Flag System (bad language, player harassment, the usual….) But I was a lil surprised at the ‘censorship’ level… I was reading the general chat and words like gay, lesbian, bi, and asexual was used and the GM gave one of the players a red-flag warning. There was no direct sexual or inappropriate dirty talk… so there seems to be some kind of ‘gray’ area as to what kind of topics can be openly discussed on the general chat area. This is somewhat expected since… all in all… HK is loved by all ages especially children (and some cultures are uncomfy talking about such topics in the open).

★ Well so far, just from observing the general chat - I feel like the atmosphere is alot more friendly than FFXI or other MMOs… less competitive/hostile - whatever you wanna call it. Possibly because the online community is made up of mostly female and there seems to be no PvP… (can’t really tell who’s male or female just by looking at the screenames & character appearance - since some females can choose male characters & have ungirly SNs)… Maybe it will be different once I join a guild but from the looks of it so far… even if I was to join a guild - I don’t think it’s for competition against other guilds like FFXI but more like an online community thang… In some ways I think this makes a game less addicting but it def. takes the stress out of gaming ^^

★ I wish the characters (your characters not the Sanrio NPCS) were cuter… Honestly, I was a lil disappointed ; ; and I wish there were more options to individualize and dress-up your character…

★ Money-making is freakin slow on HKO (or maybe it’s been too long since I started a new game…). I used to play FFXI but quit more than a year ago… Was thinking about maybe returning to the game since my character still exists… but I’ve been gone so long and all… The time and effort it takes to create and maintain an online character is seriously ‘a waste of time’ (even if you’re a game lover like myself)… This was one of the main reasons why I wasn’t sure if I wanted to start playing HKO… Don’t have as much time and the desire to stay ingame for endless hours… and starting all over again from scratch is hard in most mmorpgs especially if you’re solo’in it…

★ Past the first (or was it the first two outdoor areas…) I found out the monsters aggro. So I had to town it like 10 or so times while farming since I didn’t have a wand to fight them off. (´･ω･｀) There are lil glowing hk-faces that let you teleport to and from town… But I wish you were able to open up tele-portals like in D2 LoD so you could get back to the exact spot you were farming at… It’s a pain in the ass to walk all the way to where you were farming, from the telepo-kitty face which is basically at the entrance of the area… And since controlling your character isn’t as natural and easy as in FFXI but oh well…

★ When soloing, HTH was not a combat option even for a Lv.1 monster. I may be wrong but the only time I was able to kill something via HTH was when I was attacking the same monster with another player who had a wand… I’m hoping once I start killing monsters, the drops will make money-making a lot easier… /sigh. I just hope the low lvl monster drops are worth more than 1gold a piece. (-_-;)

★ Which brings me to… apparently you can kill the same monster as another player w/o having to be in a PT with them… (I don’t know how the EXP is calculated just yet…) And I apologize to the player whom I unknowingly leeched EXP off of (right outside of Sanrio Harbour)… m(_ _)m I’m even more sorry since I can’t remember your name - I was like 2 or so minutes into the game for the very first time and was completely unaware of my surroundings… ^^:

★ Need to figure out what ‘Friendship’ is exactly. I think it’s some kind of stat you need to lvl up to be able to access certain npcs/services…. (since it said I didn’t have enough friendship to be able to shop from a certain NPC)

★ Quests give you = EXP + Friendship points + Money + Items + Completion mark in your Quest Log.

★ Character Info & My Info icons are soOooo adorable but some are a lil hard to figure out since there are no labels as to what the icon represents. ^^: So I filled out some spaces with gibberish. w (Maybe I need to get back to the beginner tutorials… again… that I basically skimmed through… ^^:)

★ Haven’t figured out the chatting system yet either… There’s also a separate chat room that you can physically enter with your character. I’m guessing if you have buddies on your f-list then there is an option to send /tells.

★ There are some funny spellings ingame… Londan? I don’t get the meaning behind this… if there is one… w

Sending each other boxes of cute things and sharing cute character brands & items from the country you are currently residing in. Cute things would mainly be - Sanrio items you can’t buy from where you’re at. Of course, since we’d be sharing personal information like addresses online, we’d have to take some precaution… Maybe use P.O. boxes or something… And there needs to be some kind of price limit… And maybe box size limits since international shipping can become quite pricey… But stickers and most cute stationary can be sent via envelope so that shouldn’t be too bad if that’s what you’re interested in… If this works out I think it could be alotta fun during the holidays for members (esp. since Xmas is coming up soon and all…)
